Studio Series Artist's Tiles: White (75 pack) [Peter Pauper Press] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Studio Series Artist's Tiles: White (75 pack) Review: Perfect size, price and color for drawing! - Perfect, sturdy, and good white squares to take with me when I travel. I learned about Zentangles a few weeks ago and took my first samples . . . and a stack of these blank squares with me to a family party and they were an instant hit, especially with adults and young teens! I like the quality for tangles better than my sketchpads as they have a smoother finish. The price is perfect! Excited to see what more Peter Pauper Press paper company offers. Review: Great tiles at a great price - I started taking Zentangle classes a few years ago. In the class I was provided with official 100% cotton Zentangle tiles which were amazing to tangle on. However, when I started looking at purchasing supplies to use at home, I realized that I just couldn't afford to use the premium tiles. I found these highly rated tiles on desertcart and am here to agree that they are perfect for everyday use, especially when you take into account the price. I have used these tiles with a variety of media and they have done well with most. They are great with pencil and ink, specifically Pigma Micron pens, Sakura 30062 6-Piece Pigma Micron Ink Pen Set, Black . The worst medium I used was watercolor. The paper did soak up the paint okay but tended to warp quickly. The shape of the tiles is interesting with cut corners that aren't rounded. At first I wasn't sure I liked the corners but over time they have grown on me and I like them a good bit more than 90 degree corners although I still would prefer them to be rounded. The size is perfect for my purpose, 3.5" square. And the grain is rough enough that the media holds well but not so much that it is apparent when looking at the final product. I enjoy using these tiles to tangle on and they allow me to be able to afford to tangle whenever I want as opposed to being limited by costly supplies. I will likely still use the cotton tiles when I want to create a piece of art to hang on the wall or give as a gift but for my end of the day relaxation art, I will continue using these on a weekly if not daily basis.

These seem nice enough
I have not used water color on them yet so can't review how well they stand up to multi media usage. Other reviewers have described the thickness in detail so I knew in advance they were 1/3 thicker than a standard 3x5 card type material. They are blank on both sides so if you want you can use both sides for art. I will fully be scrubbing them with eraser as I attempt to make keepable versions of art so i wish they were a little thicker/heavier weight paper??? But they seem good enough and fit well into the keeper binder I bought for them. HUGS

Great for zentangle
I recently decided to try zentangling and picked up these tiles. I like them because they’re more affordable then the official product and the quality is high. I don’t feel bad when I made a mistake and have to scrap a tile.

Sharpies don't bleed through!
I bought these to try with Zentangle designs because they're small enough to pack a few into my purse and take to work. I've tried using a medium point Sharpie on the card and it did not bleed through at all! I'm very happy about that because I have two coffee cups loaded with Sharpies just begging to get used. I also tried a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen and that doesn't bleed through, either. So, I have a trifecta of drawing happiness here: inexpensive media, a portable format, and the cards work well with the pens I already have. The surface of the cards is smooth; it doesn't have a tooth or texture that some people prefer but you will get a clean, sharp line with pencil, pen, or marker. Other reviewers have noted that the tiles are thin like index cards, but they are actually quite a bit sturdier than a regular index card. I looked up the weight of an index card to see what the difference is. Paper is measured according to how much a set amount of paper weighs, but the system isn't totally standardized and it can be a bit confusing. Anyway, according to the Paper and More website, a standard index card comes in at 200 grams per square meter. The Artist's Tiles are 300 grams per square meter (says it on the packaging). So there you have it: the tiles are 150% thicker than index cards. Hope this helps!

This is really nice! Love the thickness. The package was delivered in a good condition. The cards were also packed nicely ensuring there are no folds and there was no delay in delivery. And because of the thickness, I have been able to try several mediums like ink, watercolour and even acrylics.
