I’m so glad to have learned about this product! The natural fats and nutrients in this are optimized to support my pets’ health. The Omega 3 Fatty Acids are great for not just kidney health, which is the main purpose of the product, but also for heart health, healthy skin and coat, for reducing inflammation, and just boosting the immune system overall. I especially love that all of the ingredients are pharmaceutical grade and all-natural—I can give this to my pets knowing everything in it is high-quality, GMO-free, and real (bonus points because it is also made here in the USA!). One thing that surprised me was that this supplement needs to be kept in the fridge after being opened. It makes sense, but I just hadn’t thought of it! I always think of the supplements I buy at the store being in pills or capsules and going in the medicine cabinet. But the Kidney Shield supplement is made completely out of natural ingredients and is preservative free, of course it needs to go in the fridge, just like the all-natural, animal-based foods I use! And putting it there isn’t a problem at all. The bottle is a convenient size and fits easily on just about any shelf. I love that there is a screw-on cap in addition to the pump. It makes storage easy and eliminates any issues with leakage from the pump because of the high fat content. Wiping the pump nozzle off seemed to eliminate any issues with this, too, if you leave it on. I can dose either by pumping the right amount into the food or by measuring with a teaspoon. The dosage information is clearly printed right on the bottle for either dosing method. It’s so easy to use! Thanks for a great, all-natural product. Definitely recommend.

My 13 yr. old Westie, Wes got really sick after he was put under to get two for his tiny teeth extracted and cleaned last January. I went to a new Vet that checked out on Yelp but little did I know the vet was supposed to run blood work to make sure Wes was healthy enough for anesthesia. After the Dr. performed the procedure, picked him up and he was fine. Three days later he got really sick, was vomiting yellow bile non-stop, and refused to eat for a week. I felt so bad for him and was a wreck carrying him up and down the stairs and hand feeding him baby food. I took him back to the vet and he did some blood work. Turns out his kidney levels were through the roof when he had no signs of kidney failure prior. I freaked out and looked for anything I could to help him on Amazon. I found Health Kidney's Kidney Restore and Kidney Shield. They were both really easy to administer to Wes because one is a powder and one is an Omega-3 oil that I was able to put in a syringe to directly feed into Wes' mouth. Within a week he bounced back along with subcutaneous fluids. He was eating again and regained his strength. I believe both of these products saved his life! I have since been adding both products to Wes' daily supplements and have ordered the Restore for the second time. The bottle of Kidney Shield has lasted me for almost 6 months now. I store the Omega-3 oil in the fridge. The Kidney Restore powder has essential probiotics to support healthy Kidney function and detoxification and is overall so good for your pet's digestive health. For the price paid, you get a large amount of the product and my cat, who is older and has kidney problems, loves the flavor. I have been using it for a week now and, while the timeframe has been short, he appears a bit more peppy. He certainly perks up when I get the bottle out. I didn't want to mix the supplement with his food; he is on prescription food that is pretty expensive so, I tried it first as a stand alone snack. He wasn't sure about that as he has never had a liquid snack. He would lick it off my fingers pretty eagerly but, just not out of his bowl. After that, I put some in his bowl and mixed in a few of his treats. That worked. After a couple days I can now just give him a little squirt and he doesn't need other snacks in to get him to consume it. He runs to his bowl for the supplement just as he would for any other snack so, it must taste good. Leaving the taste test to him.... They did send the product without a pump but did include a notice that the pumps were no longer available due to Covid. Makes sense to me. And, they included an alternate flip top lid that, in my opinion is a better option. With a pump you usually can't get the last little bit of the product without taking the pump out and pouring when you get to the last little bit. With the alternate lid they provide, you can easily use up the entire bottle conveniently and without waste. The bottle will easily last three months based on the dosage for my cats weight - 1 teaspoon a day. (16 oz = 96 teaspoons, so about three months and a week) All in all, this is a great value and a great product. All the ingredients listed are easy to pronounce because they are just natural products....fish oils and vitamins. No weird sounding words that make you wonder what your pet might be ingesting. I give the product two thumbs up and, if you have a pet cat or dog, highly recommend trying it out.

Good idea but my cats didn't like the taste and won't eat it no matter what I put it in.

Seems well made and great quality, even like the actual pump it comes in. Now, my elderly cat and dog who NEED it will not go near the food if even 1/10th of a tsp is mixed in. Even tried rubbing on nose so they have to lick it in, and on paw for same reason, but cat threw up. She does have a sensitive tummy and would too to fish oil. I can't take fish oil but take flax seed oil omega 3 instead. Need to return this and just try the flaxseed oil on them instead. I was hopeful, and it's no fault of the actual company or oil my animals won't eat it.

I first bought this to help my kitten with the intensive medication is receiving for his FIP to support his kidneys and other organs during the treatment, and not only he's doing great with no signs of organ distress, but his coat became so shiny, soft and healthy! My vet was in awe at how good our little guy looked since his last visit. We are definitely planning on giving some to our other cats as a little extra to their food now.

I bought a powder kidney restore from this manufacturer and it was fabulous. I ran out and so did Amazon and they weren't sure if they would carry it again. I bought this stuff thinking it might work. It is oil based and won't mix with the wet food or the liquid medicine the cat already has to take. It comes in a pump bottle. 1/2 a pump or 1/2 tsp. for a cat. It sprays everywhere and it is red and oily. It looked like I had slaughtered something. The cat wouldn't go near her bowl. I hadn't noticed that it's flavouring was all fish. My cat likes chicken and turkey and hates fish. Thankfully the other product is in stock again.
