Sun protection with style!
I live in the Gulf South but am *extremely* sensitive to the sun. I always found it a huge drag to apply sunscreen to my arms and chest and then have to wait 30 mins. for the sunscreen chemicals to become effective before I went outside for just a few minutes. Now, I just grab my Mott 50 cardi and run outside to walk the dog, water the plants or drive somewhere (did you know UVA rays can travel through glass - even tinted car windows?) I still wear sunscreen when I know I'll be out for a long time in the sun, but once the lotion has set, I add the cardi to increase my protection. The fabric is wonderful, thin, stretchy and not too hot for me to wear over a dress or sleeveless shirt even during a New Orleans summer. I love the thumb holes that keep the arms down and cover your hands a bit - I use them a lot when I'm driving. The only down side I can find to this is it's cut a little on the slim side in the shoulders/arms and doesn't come in a very big range of sizes. The XL fits me fine in the arms (I wear a 12/14 but have fairly slim arms for my size) but I wouldn't be able to wear it over another shirt that had sleeves. OTOH, I think part of why this particular cardi is so stylish is the slim cut - I just thought I'd point it out. If you're looking for something that won't be quite as slim-fitting, I have a similar cardigan from another company that I also really like a lot - the Coolibar ZnO sun wrap: http://www.amazon.com/Coolibar-UPF-Womens-Protective-Wrap/dp/B00BTHOG9O The Coolibar wrap is made of a significantly heavier fabric than the Mott 50 cardi, and it is warmer and doesn't drape quite as well, which my be a plus for people who don't want something clingy. It's also cut more loosely and slightly boxier than the Mott 50, so it works over clothes with sleeves better. The Coolibar's sleeves aren't as long and don't have the thumb holes, either.Living someplace so warm, and trying to be stylish means I reach for the Mott 50 way more often than the Coolibar wrap, but they are both great and one might suit your purposes more than the other. Hope you find this helpful!

Definitely Recommend
I absolutely love this cardigan. I am very fair skinned and this has been a perfect option for the beach, sailing, and other outdoor activities. It is a slim cut, lightweight fabric, and extremely flattering for SPF clothing. I have received a number of compliments, people asking where I purchased it... even wearing it to work with skinny jeans. I have washed in cold multiple times, hung dry, and it looks like new. Again, the material is thin and it takes up little space in a suitcase, making it great for trips. For reference, I purchased a M (5'9'', 135lbs) and have been happy with the fit.

Untrue to size and holes easily
Two thumbs down.First the sizes run small, but only in the arms. I normally wear small, but the small sleeves were SO tight that every freckle was outlined. Then the medium sleeves are ok, but the rest is a bit too baggy and doesn't drape as well. Now even worse than the size is the fabric developed holes very easily seemingly from no possible cause. It happened within a week of wearing it for normal life and washing gently. 3 different holes on 2 different gray wraps within a week.I do like the thumb holes and the light gray color is near impossible to find in a lightweight sun wrap. I have asked coolibar to make their sun wrap in gray, and I will never buy from this brand again.

the fit is great and it's very comfortable
I bought this to keep the sun off of my arms and hands in warm weather. It's incredibly soft and lightweight, the fit is great and it's very comfortable. I gave it four stars because the tag was incredibly itchy, but overall I love it!
