Jack the Ripper

this is a rely awful film, absolutely no atmosphere, nothing like the jack the ripper story, i do not know who this film was based on but it was not jack the ripper of 1888 London, they have just stolen the name jack the ripper for this completely unrelated and absolutely awful and terrifyingly boring farce, AVOID like the plague...

If you want an historically accurate film of Jack the Ripper then look elsewhere - this is, after all, a Jess Franco movie! Being a Franco (and Kinski) fan this does prove, however, that given a decent budget & cast he was a talented film director, despite all the low grade dross he also churned out. This film is as much a police drama as it is a horror, so may put off more hardcore horror fans, but it isn't shy on both nudity & gore when Jack strikes (Lina Romay being an obligatory victim). The recreation of the River Thames is laughable though! Disc comes with both English or German audio & a few interesting extras.

Very entertaining with nudity what else do you expect from Jess Franco.Not a great quality film or much to do with Jack but I've not seen a Jack film that has much to do with the truth yet.

Not as decribed, this is a poor American film, presumably produecd in someones garden shed!! The acting is atrocius!!

The best Jack the Ripper film made. Good cast too. Worth buying
