I bought this when I discovered that my local big box store did not carry 3 speed fan switches for ceiling fans. There is not much to say other than quality wise it seems at least as good as the original (which did of course fail). The color doesn't matter since this switch is internal to the fan. It worked perfectly one it was installed. As far as ease of installation, my particular fan actually required quite a bit of disassembly to get to switch. Once there the wires had to be spliced as the connectors were different on my fan. It was not difficult but unless you are used to doing these sorts of electrical repairs it could be a bit daunting for someone not used to DIY stuff. In total it took me about 20 minutes. Considering the cost of the replacement switch versus the cost of replacing the entire ceiling fan I think it was a reasonably good value. If you are a competent DIYer and your fan switch went out I would definitely recommend that you buy this one to replace it. Hope this helps!

Just watch a DIY video on how to replace it. My old chain pulled apart and the fan wouldn't stop. Make sure you get the wires matching and take a pic with your phone of the old one so you know where the colored wires should go. Pretty easy, cut the power first of course.

This was so easy to replace and it works perfectly. Make sure you take a closeup photo of your old switch before you take out the wires, so you know where to push them back in. I'll be buying a few more to keep for other ceiling fans that may need repair.

Great Replacement & Inexpensive!! This part was almost identical to the original switch which made it super easy! The chain to my 3-speed ceiling fan had broken off inside the housing. so after researching my options, this part was exactly what was needed and made it basically quick, easy and inexpensive. I watched the videos as well as researched replacing fan switches on YouTube to make sure I understood the overall process and to pick up any tips and tricks. I turned the breaker off, followed the various recommendations.... taking photos of the existing broken switch while it was still wired into the fan housing, drawing a diagram of the old switch and writing down the wire colors and noting their locations in the broken switch and then basically mapped them to the new switch same locations to duplicate their exact placement. I wanted to have backup info in case I needed it. I disconnected one wire at a time and then connected it into the new switch in the identical location - one wire at a time. So one by one, moving each wire into the new switch. (To release the wires from the old switch, I used a very small flat head screwdriver and inserted into the old switch wire slots and pressed down and it released the wires. It took one or two tries in the beginning on the first wire to figure it out and release but then it was easy to remove the remaining wires.) Once the wire released from the old switch, I then inserted the wire into the new part until the wire clicked into place - you could feel when it clicked in and I checked each wire by pulling slightly to ensure it was held in place. Overall, It took maybe 10-20 minutes including the time to go out and turn the breaker off, remove the housing, replace the switch, test and replace the housing. So for just $6.99, delivered right to your front door and maybe 20 minutes - Well worth it! Thanks!!

The switch went out our ceiling fan. This was easy to change and it only took me about 30 minutes. I have never done anything like this so, I imagine someone who knows what they're doing can probably do it faster. The wires matched perfectly and my fan now works like new! Saved us a couple hundred dollars.

Arrived quick, has proper numbers/labels that match the broken switch, and an okay instruction sheet. 15 minute replacement.
