This mug is light-weighted and beautifully designed. However, I will avoid pouring ANY HOT/WARM drinks into it. This morning I poured warm coffee (not even that hot) and both the mug and coffee smell really weird (not even a pleasant wood scent). So I have to toss my coffee. The bottom of the mug seemed damaged already due to the heat (?!)This mug might be great for beer and other cold drinks. But save your money if you are going to use it for tea or coffee.

It seemed a bit fragile when I first got it, but after I knocked it into the sink full of coffee and it didn't break I was even more pleased. Whatever wood they make these out of is light, tough, and attractive. I am also pleased the inside contour matches the outside contour; that's an extra step in quality I can appreciate. I've been using it for a week now for coffee, hot and cold tea, and beer and it works well. I like the very descriptive and complete instructions for care the company sent along with it. It's a high value to cost item and I'm, probably, going to buy another one for my wife.

I bought five of these cups 7 months ago, and have had to discard two of them that developed cracks near the bottom of the mug. One of the mugs was sitting on the table in front of me when I heard a very loud "bang!" sound, and a two-inch crack appeared in it, causing it to leak. I have used the mugs only occasionally, and have only hand-washed them.
