Q: Would this work well for scraping popcorn ceiling?

yes and no. the blade works fine, it's the action of the reciprocating saw that may tear the ceiling apart. I used it to get carpet glue off a concrete floor. worked great...but alot of tough action on the floor. my guess is that you tear up a drywall ceiling.

Q: Would this work to remove several layers of paint from concrete walls?

Concrete walls are vey porous and I don't this scraper would be good for that except for taking loose or peeling paint off concrete. I would just rough up the surface with a wire brush and encapsulate the roughed up area with a good concrete sealer/primer and paint over it.

Q: anyone tried this on thinset? i have about 1/2in to demo

I tried this blade. It is a very light duty. Will not work on thinset.
