This Halloween season, your child can scare all of the villagers while bringing the legend of Sleepy Hollow to life in this Kids Headless Horseman Costume! The name Ichabod Crane is inextricably linked in literature with the Headless Horseman, and a few people who haven't read Washington Irving's actual story may mistakenly think that Crane WAS the Headless Horseman. He wasn't. Ichabod was the schoolmaster in the fictional village of Sleepy Hollow, and he encountered the Headless Horseman, believed to be the ghost of a Hessian mercenary from the Revolutionary War, while riding late at night back to the village from a party at an outlying farm. He had made a proposal of marriage to the farmer's daughter, and had been rejected. He was never seen in Sleepy Hollow again. The next morning his unsaddled horse was found wandering, the saddle trampled, and a smashed pumpkin lying alongside Crane's hat beside the road. Wear this ensemble with your own black pants. And for a more realistic touch, carry one of our pumpkins as a prop. Everyone will want to escape this spooky creature whose head was blown off by a Revolutionary War cannonball! - Shirt w/ attached cape - Headpiece - Inflatable shoulder component

SUCH A HIT!
This costume was a HIT! My 9 year old picked this as his costume when I was reluctant about but it's costume so I went for it. It works great!!! He won MOST ORIGINAL at a halloween party, and he received countless compliments. People would stop and say to their child "Look at the headless horseman" and just marvel.I got the medium (8-10). But 9 year old is an average sized kid, and it fit him very well. The head piece wouldn't of worked if his head was any bigger, so if you child had a large head it may not be a good fit.He was able to see fine through the mesh holes and you couldn't see the holes when he was wearing it. You will need to have a dark shirt to where with it, and the dark pants if you want. You will be able to see the bottom of their shirt and entire pants very well when wearing it.

Money we’ll spent!
I was very hesitant to spend so much for a costume to be worn for one nigh, especially with so many varying reviews. But I’m so glad we went for it!!The costume was delivered quickly and all pieces were in good shape. My daughter is 50”tall and around 55lbs. The size M (8-10) fit perfectly. I was worried about the cape dragging or the top falling too low, but everything fit very well.I was also worried about visibility, but she could see very well. She never tripped or missed a step. The strings that hold the shoulder pads and chest plate in place were silky and kept coming loose, causing one shoulder to slip forward. Not a big deal, no one seemed to notice as they continually showered my daughter with compliments! It also gave us an excuse to step aside, readjust and hydrate!Speaking of compliments, from the moment we left the house we were stopped by people wanting to take her picture or have their picture taken with her. She felt like a celebrity! She also got some special candy and toys from houses for having the best costume.Overall, my daughter had “the best Halloween ever!” and wants to wear it again next year. So, money well spent!!

Was a hit during Trick-or-Treat
My son got tons of compliments. It was a very unusual costume in the sea of Elsa, Skeletons, Star Wars, etc. I wilsh the net over the eyes was thinner as it was hard to see through when it got dark. Otgerwise great costume

Very disappointing
I finally received this costume today after waiting 2 weeks. The wait would have been okay if the costume wasn't such a disappointment. My expectations were based on the reviews and the picture (which is very deceiving).First, it is only a shirt and cape. There are no pants and you would still have to wear a black shirt underneath since the shirt part of the costume doesn't cover everything.Second, there are inflatable "shoulders". Basically, 2 "balloons" that you blow up and that are attached via elastic straps that go around the child's neck. There are also elastic straps to fit under the arm. This is supposed to raise the shoulders to cover the bottom half of your face. It's virtually impossible to blow the shoulders up with your mouth. Fortunately, I had a manual balloon pump that worked fine.Third, the "chopped off head" portion is a rubberized mask that fits over the head and has cut outs for the eyes. It is way too snug and the eyes don't line up. Even if they did, the eyes are visible, ruining the whole illusion. I thought the face portion was under the black shirt with a see-through section. Instead the face portion is under the rubber neck. This is not obvious by the picture (the picture does not show eyes).Fourth, the fit is very tight. I read the earlier reviews that said it's sized small. So I ordered a larger size and it is still too small. My son is a little under an 8 (8 fits but is big on him). I ordered the 8-10. The tag on the costume just says Medium even though Amazon is selling it based on size numbers. I can barely get his arms into the sleeves, especially when the inflatable shoulders are in the way.Fifth, even with this costume being snug, I could not get the neck portion of the shirt to stay up on the face or the mask. So my son's chin was still visible. I could probably find some way of pinning this up but after all of these other problems, I'm inclined to just return the costume. My plan was to put a plastic pumpkin on the top of the chopped off neck. I don't see how that's possible based on the way this is made. Another reviewer said she did it. I would love to hear how.

OK but buy the next size up
My son was really looking forward to wearing this costume for their school's fall carnival. It came on the scheduled date and the material/quality seems to be comparable to other costumes of the same price range but is too small. We bought the medium one which was supposed to be for size 7 - 9, but the mask (neck part of the costume) would not even fit my 8 year old. The rest of the costume was a little too snug as well. My son, in no way, is big for his age. He actually still wear some of his size 7 clothes. It was too late to reorder/return the costume so we ended up buying a different costume from a local store. Should have listed to the other reviews. Bottom line - good costume but buy the next size up.

Fun and spooky, need a bit of maintenance
It is a bit difficult to see through, especially in the dark. The cape slides down and needs to be adjusted to keep from seeing eyeholes in the mask. My son still loved it and it wasn’t impossible.
