The first book of two that you wouldn't want to miss reading, that is if you a Amelita Rae fan (or even if it's you first book).The two main character's Akira a merman, Reiden, is human. Akira has admired Reiden from afar for quite sometime when he came to the surface. Reiden was a handsome human and Akira could watch him for hours.The two meet when a strong ocean storm came and Akira watched to make sure his human was alright, but then his small boat overturns. Akira came to the rescue as soon as he could and found that Reiden was trapped by the ropes of the boat.Reiden had no more air in his lungs and Akira forced his mouth over the human and breathed in the air he desperately need. Akira struggled with cut the rope, but needed to keep going to the surface for air to feed to the human.Once he was free, Akira found a piece of drifting debris for Reiden to hang onto and Akira wrapped the rope around that and his waist and swam long and far to the shore to save the human. Once on land, Reiden was deeply attracted to Akira and they kissed on the beach, but were interrupted when a rescue team came up over the sand dunes. Akira slipped back into the water and left with only a wave goodbye.Reiden searched years to find the boy again. A millionaire or more Reiden had spent millions in preparing for Akira if he ever found him.Amelita Rae brings out the color and vividness of Akira underwater world as well as the danger. I loved the part where Reiden had found him and had an underwater camera on him and his curiosity was hilarious. Rae does an excellent job in seeing every thing from Akira POV and it's hysterical how he questions things are in our world vs his water world. The fear of what these machines where but would always calm when Reiden was around.The story continues in Beloved 2 and I highly recommend this enjoying story of love and romance.

I loved this story. I was worried it would be too angst but there was just the right amount of angst. I am happy the book ended on a happy note and look forward to reading a continuation of the story.

I honestly had not expected such a beautiful story out of this. I don’t normally read fairytale versions of anything, but this was beautifully done. The cover art is what got my attention first as it landed on my GR’s page and I’m happy to say I judged a book by its cover.I was worried this was going to be the kind of story where the human, Raiden, just wants to trap the merman, Akari, to have all for himself. But it’s not that. At all. Akari longs for a life where he can feel safe and Raiden provides that for him.The descriptive imagery was incredible. Everything played out in my head like a movie and I was overly excited to have the illustrations included as well. They’re gorgeous and breathtaking.Glad this one popped up in my life. About to go finish the second one as well. 😝

This is a very sweet, endearing story of two very different people finding each other. I love their relationship, and the kindness shown by each character towards the other. I find it fascinating that this Author can write such a wide variety of plots and genre. All of her stories are very different from one another. Highly recommended if you want a warm and fuzzy, sweet and sexy, well thought out tale. I can't wait for part 2!

I love love love this story. The fantasy, the overwhelming love and the charismatic heroes make this one of my favorite tales from Amelita. The reader can't help but be caught up in the overwhelming obsession the two have for each other. Full of light hearted and joyful moments I found myself smiling and laughing throughout. A wonderful sweet romantic tale, quit different from the author's last book but no less enjoyable, more so even, as light and love permeate the whole story. Can't wait for part two. I highly recommend this story for everyone.

Akira is so sweet and innocent, and Raiden is just enchanted by him from their first meeting. Even though it took him ten years, Raiden never gave up the hope of finding his rescuer again. I loved seeing the world through Akira's eyes. I can't wait to read the next book but since it's almost 3:30 in the morning I think I'll wait a bit.😉

This is a cute little story and I can’t wait to see how it ends. I love the drawings. It reminds me of anime.

I wanted a short light read and this was the perfect book. It's a fantasy fluff novel that makes you feel warm as you dive into the story of the merman.
