An Exceptional Tool of Its Kind
I've had several other brands/models of "extension grabbers", but this one is by far the best. It's made mostly of metal (not the easily bendable kind of metal that other are made of), with a sturdy plastic handle & operating lever. The grips feel like they're made of rubber, not plastic or vinyl. The construction is excellent. There are no sharp edges, & connections are made with metal rivets. The operation is smooth, & it has a much stronger grip than the others I've tried, & it's considerably longer than most other models. There are a couple of "cons", but they are in terms of personal usage & not in terms of design flaws or contruction.First, due to the circular shape & grasping motion of the grips, it seems best designed for handling round objects, such as cans of food. It is somewhat awkward to use it to grasp flat objects or smaller objects, although I imagine that it could be done with practice. Be aware that the grippers are attached to the pole at about a 45° angle, not like most of the other extension grabbers, where the grippers are attached to their poles in almost a straight lineAlso, due to it's sturdy construction & superior materials & extra length, it is quite a bit heavier than the ordinary extension grabber. I use two hands to operate it (one to hold the pole in place, the other to clench the handle) & that works well for me, but may not be for everyone. Younger/stronger people will be able to use it with one hand without a problem.Prospective buyers should be aware that the company that I purchased it from ("OfficeSuperSavers", via amazon) mailed it to me in a clear plastic bag with no protective materials, so it arrived bent due to a dent received in transit. This is not a product defect, but may impact the usability of the item when you get it.I'm going to be keeping my old extension grabber ( Ez2care Alumium Reacher with Magnetic Tip and Ergo Handle, Silver, 30-Inch ), because it is lighter, grasps smaller objects, & has a magnet on it, but this Unger model here is very usefeiul for tasks that my other one can't accomplish, & I'm sure it's going to outlast all the others I've had. A great product!

Does a good job
This product works pretty well. It has a "squeeze" handle rather than a "trigger" handle. I would have preferred a trigger handle, but couldn't tell from the picture what type of handle it had. I purchased this product because of the length of the grabber. I needed something to help raise and lower cordless shades that were too high to do without having to use a ladder. The claw holds small items pretty well. To raise and lower my blinds, a small button is needed to be pushed. The Nabber works pretty well, it just requires a hard squeeze to get the ends to keep hold of the button so the blinds will go up and down.FYI: I did not reduce the rating for this item based on the packaging it was shipped in. I did a separate review for that. Please be aware, this item is NOT shipped in a box. It is shipped in a plastic bag. There is no protective packaging around the product. My Nabber came with the handle end sticking out of the bag and it was broken. I was able to fix it and use it. Because it was broken, that may be why it takes a hard squeeze to get the claw to hold onto a small object. I can't testify to this because I didn't send it back to get a new one that wasn't broken. Just be aware that you may receive a broken product.

These things are top-notch
I used to have a job where we would use these grabbers and we would beat the crap out of them and they would last a long time,. got one for my house and I decided to get this longer version and honestly I wish I could have got the short version. The longer version is great if you need to reach for something but say you pick something up off the floor with this I've got to lift the the handle way up over my head to be able to reach the item I picked up because this thing is so long. if you don't need the long version you probably want to get the shorter version but bottom line these things are awesome they're durable that last foreverAwesome product

Indispensable for Lawn Mowing
I have two of these grabbers, this 51" and a 42". I bought this one to mount on my SCAG commercial mower (I don't use it commercially - it just makes cutting the lawn fun). The 51" is long enough to reach trash (and kids toys) all around the mower without having to get off or lean over. These things are really sturdy as far as being able to pick up some fairly heavy items (say 5lbs or so). However, the metal prongs are not very strong and will bend (easily bent back into place), and the rivets that hold the prong gear mechanism in place works itself loose over time (I tighten the rivet back up in a vice). I would give it 5 stars if they strengthen the prongs by using hardened steel and replace that rivet with a nut & bolt than can be easily tightened.

You have to get use to using it because I have picked up heavy things like a tall glass jar with a lid but then ...
It is close to everything the outline says about it but I would prefer it to have an adjustable arm because sometimes it is too long for what I am needing to pick up. You have to get use to using it because I have picked up heavy things like a tall glass jar with a lid but then had problems getting it to pick up a sm box of baking soda because it couldn't keep its grip on the box until the 10th attempt. I recommend not holding it directly overhead while lowering things down to you! I am finding it extremely helpful overall & I am glad I purchased it!

Grab things pretty well
The thing works pretty good. My only disappointment was it said it would arrive before Christmas and it didn’t so I ran to Home Depot Christmas Eve to get a different kind for under the tree. Two days after Christmas it arrived so now I have an extra grammar grab fo The thing works pretty good.
