good meter, but "NOT FOR RESALE"
It works quite well, but it does say "NOT FOR RESALE" on the box. It was carefully covered with a white address label tape, but I heat gunned it to gently peel back the label and here's the picture. As a California Licensed Health Care provider, I use the "NOT FOR RESALE" meters to give to my patients who don't have the cash to afford a meter or are not covered by insurance. Finding these on Amazon is quite interesting to say the least. I would expect them on Ebay, but would hope that Amazon would screen their sellers a bit more carefully.

Meter run 20 more points higher after 3 months of uses. Not very please with the results. However, I was even unhappy after contacting the manufacture for replacement (automatic 5 years warranty) and was turned down. The manufacture told me, even I registered the product, I can't receive the warranty since I bought this from Amazon. After channeling up to supervisor, I was granted an exception to the rule and will receive a replacement unit. However, the supervisor advised me that the company don't warrant purchase from Amazon 3rd party (for meter, strips and solution).

I had to watch a few videos on YouTube to figure out how to use this. I did figure it out. I also found videos on YouTube about how to control blood sugar through diet so with the help of my dietician I have changed my diet. Everyone is different so you just have to figure out what is best for you as far as an eating plan. I believe our health care system in this country is sad so I just research things on my own and do whatever works to make me feel better

Inexpensive and accurate
When my doctor called in a new prescription for test strips for me, there was a misunderstanding between the doctor and the drug store about the name. I use Contour Next, but the drug store gave me the Contour strips instead. I did not notice until I took the bag home, and at that point they would not exchange them for the correct strips. I debated what to do with these strips, and it finally dawned on me that the meters are usually reasonably priced. So I ordered the Contour meter, and have no regrets. It was inexpensive and works great. If the drug store mixes them up again, I'm prepared, and not unhappy with the switch.

This is one of my basics I am not diabetic but on occasion I need/want to know what my blood sugar is to determine what to do. My other basics are the blood pressure cuff and pulse and the finger pulse Oximeter. The Bayer's Contour Blood glucose monitoring is very good. The problem that I have found is that buying the Bayer Microlets multicolored lancets fit lower in the Microlet lancing device than does the sample packaged that are gray. so be aware if you buy the multicolored -- know that you need to push them in to click the lancing device and then pull very slight back up otherwise, when you put on the cap to the lancing device, the multicolored lancets will not go past the head of the lancing device and will not prick your finger.

Accurate
I ended up buying this because I accidently bought the wrong strips. I had meant to buy the contour next strips so when they arrived, it was just cheaper to buy the contour monitor rather than trying to return the strips. I was surprised when I compared the contour to the contour next and found a 15 point difference when I took my readings from each in the same setting. When I went to the doctor to have my blood checked, I took a reading from both the contour and the contour next to see which was closer. The contour measured me at 96 that morning and the contour next measured me at 104. The contour was spot on - I was exactly 96 when I got my results back. No problems with shipping or delivery on this one either.

Don’t buy this product. Fair warning
I got two brand new units and both gave me different readings. Both were too high. I was scared because of the readings and ended up calling 911. They took 5 minutes to get here and my glucose was normal. They took it with 2 different machines and blood from the vain. I tried to return the items as defective and they won’t return them. Basically they sold me 2 defective items that I can’t return and on top has to pay the ambulance and medical services due to their defective product and I can’t even return it

Not accurate at all but something else!
This unit is completely inaccurate. I have AccuCheck and my wife needs a unit so we were going to try this one. She’s considered borderline right now. Results are typical of equipment that is way out of calibration. If sugar levels are low(ie 113, 114) between the AccuCheck and this meter there was a 14 point spread. Yes we had everything set properly! Now the good part. If blood sugars were running high (ie 150 range).there was a 40 point spread!! What do you believe. We feel the AccuCheck is correct because my long term number from the doctor was so high.
