Great flavor and a kick too
I even got friends to give this coffee a try! One of my two favorites. I use it in both a coffee press and an expresso machine.

Great beans, nice roast! Love this blend!
I do love this bean quite a bit. I'm obsessed with the Kick Ass Blend & usually buy that, but every once in awhile I like a change. I had tried a few of their other blends and been a bit disappointed (three sisters, 454 horsepower) but not with this one! While I still think that the Kick ass is better, this blend is also very good! It's a very dark roast, so light roast drinkers beware! It's very robust in flavor but still smooth which is sometimes a tough combo to create. I think though however it's a bit low on the caffeine side. I realize most dark roasts are lower in caffeine compared to light roasts, this one seemed especially so. It could just be me, but after a couple of cups I was still groggy. Usually after 2 cups (my cup is 22 oz. by the way) I'm ready to start the day.

Tastes excellent
When I had to drop caffeinated coffee due to hypertension, Kicking Horse was the second decaffeinated coffee I tried (I went from caffeinated Keurig dark magic pods). I love it's boldness and coffee taste, yeah sometimes it's a hassle to grind beans the the coffee taste and smell is excellent. A plus is that I now have a good supply of grounds for my garden.

This got me drinking coffee again (at least on weekends)
While I would like to write a real "foodie" review, beautifully articulating the nuanced flavors and how balanced it is, with perfect acidity and... you know the rest, I can't. What I can say is that I was a coffee drinker for about 20 years, make that a coffee addict, Then I burned out on it about three years ago and switched to tea. I'm not looking to return to coffee but I have the taste for it every now and then, and other than a good espresso, I'm usually disappointed. I got this for my wife, who is still a coffee drinker, and I can say that this is the first coffee I have enjoyed in a long time. Since taste is so subjective, that might not help people reading this, but as a benchmark, I find Starbucks too bitter, Duncan and Wawa too weak, and I used to be a big La Colombe fan. Now I'm a Kicking Horse fan too. We might try other roasts but this one was excellent.

Just Average Tasting Decaf - disappointed.
We Drink a lot of Decaf Coffee here, being in Jamaica, we are surrounded by the full-bodied taste and Smell of Blue Mountain Coffee which we love! But can not find a good “Decaf” in Blue Mountain, so we went on a search and wound up with Green Mountain - Dark Magic Decaf - Dark Roast. Which is a great tasting decaf with a wonderful aroma! But saw so many great reviews for the Kicking Horse, so gave it a try - aroma average, but the taste was lacking, very mild and tame. Very disappointed. Better off with the Dark Magic Decaf, or Peets Major Dickansons Blend Decaf, Heck even Peets Decaf House Blend Taste Better than the Kicking Horse. Maybe I got a bad batch? - But would not Recommend!
