The app lets the team down and makes the Weye Feye useless.
I had high hopes but so far it's not worth the trouble . It does not work at all with my ipad or ipad mini with either Canon 6D or 5DIIIn each case I get error messages related to connectivity. I think the problems are having to do with the app because when i downloaded the "S" version of the app the cameras were recognized just fine and I was able to review the images on the camera cards with ease. I bought the Weye Feye as camera controller though to be used with my apple products. The Weye Feye and app will work with an android phone more or less but only after jumping though all sorts of hoops. You have to for instance restart the phone just about every time to be recognized. Likewise for the camera and the weye feye itself. Very inconsistent ! I bought this to help me on photo shoots but it's turned out to be a job in and of itself just to get it to work.Who needs that aggravation?

I must say that I really do like the concept but
The jury's still out on this.I must say that I really do like the concept but, there are some things that are extremely annoying with the Weye Feye. The manual that comes with the unit is horrible and vague, it really doesn't explain anything or give any real instructions as to how to control the Weye Feye. I have a few complaints about this Weye Feye and I've only just begun to use it.First, all that is included is the manual, the registration card, the Weye Feye unit and a cable that has a USB connector on one end and a micro USB on the other. This cable is for charging the battery but, a charger is not supplied with the unit. I'm not sure about the supported Nikon cameras but, the supported Canon cameras use a mini USB cable so, you have to supply your own cable too.Second, I hooked my Canon 50D to the Weye Feye and initially it seemed fine but, within a couple minutes, the Weye Feye dumped connectivity and the only way to link it again was to totally shut down the Weye Feye and the camera then restart both, within a couple minutes, it did it again and continuously repeated this same annoying process. I decided to remove it from my 50D and try my 60D. For whatever reason, I didn’t have any connectivity issues with my 60D, it didn’t dump.Third, if you want to change the ISO, it’s very easy to do and straight forward however, if you want to change the exposure, good luck! So far, I haven’t figured out how to change the exposure thanks to the horrible manual that comes with the Weye Feye and the lack of any kind of instruction manual in the app store or self contained within the app itself. The focus is all manual even though the camera is in auto focus not to forget that when you manual focus, it is extremely slow to focus. There has to be a way to use the auto focus but, unfortunately thanks to the lack of any kind of usable operational information, I have no choice but to muddle through it and try to figure it out.For me this is very annoying, you have no choice but to figure everything out on your own, it's ridiculous!Fourth, the most annoying thing about this Weye Feye that I have come across so far is that once you link to it and take a picture, for some reason it goes into the settings of the camera and turns off the photo review so that when you disconnect from the Weye Feye, you have to go into the camera settings and select the review time and turn it back on. This really worries me because it makes me wonder what else it’s changing in my camera settings that I haven’t found yet? It also makes me wonder if the Weye Feye is installing anything into the operating system of my camera without my consent or knowledge. Just in case it's not obvious, this happened to both, my 60D AND my 50D.If this thing is as good as what they advertise it to be, why don't they include a real instruction manual on the Weye Feye website AND include it in the app? The major benefit to having a usable instruction manual is that people like me like to read through the manual to see features available and how to use them and the ease of operation. I want this thing to work so bad but, it's turning into something extremely annoying!Had I known about all these unknown issues and annoying operations up front, I don’t think I would have bought this item in the first place. As it stands right now, my advice is DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE IT APPEARS I DID!

Does not autoadvance the preview pictures. Forces you to continually click multiple times in the gallery to see your newest pix
I have been looking for a better solution than the eyefi card for previewing images on my ipad or google tablets. The weye-feye appears as an access point which can be connected to from PC, Android or IOS and on the latter two, allow remote control of the camera's functions in much the same way as CamRanger but at 1/2 the cost.https://xsories.com/weye-feye-orangeThey make 2 version of this. The regular version described above, and an "S" version which only includes the gallery functions (i.e. no remote-control).I bought the regular version with remote control even though I don't currently have a use for it. The unit seems to be more rugged and better protected as well as smaller than the camranger and has 2x the range if you believe the specs. The way it works is that you plug your camera into the USB port on the weye-feye and you connect wirelessly to the weye-feye from your iPad, iPhone, android device or windows PC.On ios/android you have a pretty complete set of remote control functions including live view, selection of most camera parameters, focus point selection, etc.On windows, you just get file transfer to the folder of your choice. On ios/android you do not get file transfer but the host app on your device is able to peak into the camera's file system to view files stored on your camera's flash card.Contrary to the whining on amazon.com, connecting up to the weye-feye was very simple and easy. For me - interested primarily in previewing images - the big #FAIL in the android and ios app is the inability to autoadvance the picture. You have to manually refresh the image list every time a new picture is taken. With the eyefi card, on android , pc and ios, I can be in the gallery and looking at a full screen picture of the latest image I have taken and every time I take a new picture, it auto-updates and shows the new picture full screen. With the weye-feye, I have to go over to the tablet and manually refresh and open the latest picture each time. This is no good in the studio or in the field IMO and it seems like an easy problem to solve but 3 separate attempts at contacting their support yielded nothing. If you are using a windows computer, you can have the weye-feye app auto-transfer the files to your computer and using lightroom's file monitoring function, lightroom *will* auto-update to the latest file you have transfered. However, I do not want to take my notebook computer out in the field for shoots. I guess if you have a surface pro and are running the full version of lightroom on it you could have the best of both worlds.I also contacted shuttersnitch - who's software i use on my ipad with my eyefi card - but it seems that they are not particularly interested in supporting weye-feye (or camranger for that matter).I have not had a chance to investigate whether the camranger apps for ios or andoid can do the auto-update of the gallery photos. Maybe someone else can comment on that?Anyway, for me and the fact that I'm not particularly interested in the remote control aspect, the weye-feye and the lack of support have me inclined to return the unit. Maybe a future software update will fix the problem. If so, i would buy this again.
