Take Control of Your Sleep If you are a hot sleeper who wants to sleep cool without paying a fortune on electricity the Mattress Cooler might just be the product for you. The Mattress Cooler chills about a gallon of water using evaporative cooling and circulates that water through a thin PVC mattress topper to remove that 98.6 degree body heat trapped between your mattress and your covers that usually keeps you hot. It's a simple solution for a simple problem...which is why we can offer it for a fraction of some of the other mattress cooling products on the market. No...it won't connect to your smart phone or track your biorhythm...but it will keep you cool all night long while using less than a penny of electricity a night. How it Works: Common sense would tell you that this device couldn't chill any lower than room temperature, but in this case, common sense is wrong. Thanks to the physics of evaporation, we can actually chill water about 7-12 degrees below room temperature by using a fan and a surface area increasing membrane to accelerate evaporation. It turns out, this is about perfect....our pads provide excellent cooling with water temperature of about 75F against your body temperature of about 98.6F, allowing you to set your homes AC at about 76 from 8PM to 8AM every evening (instead of 65)

Lot of maintenance
What you don't find out until opening and reading the manual is that the water spills easily and must be kept above the level of the bed to work properly. If it were a closed pumping system - like those used to cool computer CPU systems - then there wouldn't be a spilling issue. Plus, you have to empty the water and let it dry out every 2 weeks to keep it from growing mold inside it. Again, a close pumping system would solve this problem too.

Not for constant 12 month Every-night use.
This pump works well keeping me cool but the mattress pad is a little Uncomfortable. Last week it quit pumping Water due to the water Pump going DEAD on me after 8 months of Constant Nightly use. I reordered a New one a few days ago. I use it though in the Winter months Also.

Works great.
I have MS ( Multiple Sclerosis ). I have spent years and $$$. Buy so called cooling pillows. They all ways get hot after 1/2 hour or so. Got tired of changing pillows. Or soaked pillow cases every night. This Pillow cooling system works ( All Night Long ). I but the fan on the lowest setting. And but two pillow case's on it. Other wise it gets too cold. I bought last July and use it every night. I did have a problem the 3rd week with a leak. One of the two pads i got with it. Customer Service sent out two replacement pad right way. Have not have problem since. I use Distilled Water in mine it keeps the much cleaner.

Cools very well but prone to leaking and destroyed my $2k mattress.
My topper arrived with a small hole in it. I put a dab of epoxy over it and it sealed fine. I used the system for a few months last summer and it was fantastic. It cools very well, sometimes I'd wake up because it was too cold, love it.I drained the pad and stored it rolled up for the winter because it literally feels like you're laying on a deflated pool toy even when it's placed under a fitted sheet and a cotton mattress protector. It also tends to slide around and bunch up, I have to readjust it every other morning. It's not comfortable to sleep on.Two weeks ago I got it out of storage and again started enjoying a chilled night's sleep. Last night I noticed a mildew smell so I pulled my sheets off to wash and discovered that my $2k memory foam mattress was soaked through the bottom and had been like that obviously for a while. I had no idea I'd been sleeping on a soaked mattress for weeks because I was separated from it by the vinyl topper. I've inspected the bottom and there are two new holes that were not there last season. My previous repair has held fine.I'm trying to dry it out but I'm pretty confident that the mildew smell will never come out and I'll likely have to replace my entire mattress. It's also worth noting that when I pulled this out of my closet to use this summer, the fan no longer worked and I had to replace it. No idea why, I stored it clean and dry. I'm guessing it was just a very cheap part they used.Basically, this thing actually does work really well but unless you're going to remove your sheets every other night to check for leaks, I have to say it's definitely not worth your time and money. I'm going to try the eightsleep mattress instead which has this same technology built-in but I'm guessing is much more well made.
