I picked up one of these Amish cookbooks in a local store to give as a gift. After browsing through I decided I needed one too! So I got one for me with my next Amazon order and I love it! If you like to cook you'll like this recipe collection.

The first thing I noticed about this cookbook was the beautiful photos! As I started looking at the recipes, I really loved the tips regarding on how to make them better! I also enjoy how simplistic the ingredients are! I have almost all of the ingredients in my pantry already! If that wasn’t enough, spread throughout the book are wonderful, interesting & encouraging thoughts! There are also many beautiful little insights/ treasures about the Amish & Mennonite community! I really felt as I was reading it, that it helped me to understand a wonderful group of people in our world that is either misunderstood or not noticed for the simplicity of their lives! I found this to be an inspirational cookbook as well as a cookbook full of gold mine recipes! I highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who wants to get back to simple basic cooking that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg! You will truly love the tasty recipes in this book! Not to mention all of the words of wisdom! My hats off & a GREAT thanks to all of the wonderful & special people who made this book possible!!! Keep it up! I can’t wait to buy your next volume of cookbook!!

I borrowed this cookbook from a friend and had to have one for my own cookbook collection! I like that the recipes are simple and easy to make. The instructions are easy to understand and thorough. I especially love the chapter on breads, I made the banana bread and it's delicious. The hamburger buns turned out well too. I also like that there are recipes in this book that I've never seen anywhere else; like homemade ketchup for example. A chapter on jams and jellies and canning recipes make this book a treasure.

This is a very well done cookbook. Lots of great recipes.

The ingredients simple, flavor is wonderful for the recipes I have used. Appreciate this simplicity due to food allergies/intolerance to certain ingredients.

Brought for my son at his request, really nice book with lots of lovely recipes. Folds flat so is easy to use. Lots of handy tips and info about The Amish.
