Beats the wii IMO.
I love the Xavixport and all it's fun extras. Including the baseball and bat. Very neat. I also have the bowling and it is also great. Why this isn't as popular as they Wii I don't know. I think it is more realistic if anything.

This game was hard to get the timing and the hang of it down, more challenging for the kids to play than the adults, once you get going, you will get a work out. Graphics are way better than the Wii.

Just like the bowling unit this Xavix game is terrific! The onscreen stadium and ball field are wonderful. The players against you are well animated and realistic as are the players that run the field. I took the bat first and my husband pitched. Yes, you pitch and bat just like a real game, except that the pitcher can program the ball to do some very fancy throwing. It is great fun. With this game reading the manual is important as you can program your ball for pitching and it is easy to strike out if you don't wait for the ball to come just in front of home plate before you bat at it. Just like in real baseball your teams take turns, players take turns pitching and batting. The running and catching are done onscreen by animated players but the batting and pitching feel very real. The pitcher and batter are shown as animated players onscreen and bat or wind up as you move so you control their onscreen actions as you play. In this game just like in bowling, the bat and ball have sensors that are read by the base unit which is sold separately. The top of the bat is soft foam so an accidental swing into the pitcher won't do damage. Just as in bowling you don't let go of the ball or the bat and both are anchored to your arm for saftey by adjustable straps. The ballpark sounds, crack of bat, crowds, and music are very realistic and lots of fun. Like the bowling unit you can play with up to eight players. There are batting and pitching training games, regular games, and championship series games that pit you in the quarter finals of a tournament with a team of the game's choosing. Although neither of us are great ball fans this is so much fun we have become great simulated baseball fans. Once again these games, the bowling, baseball and tennis are sports simulators not sit on the couch video games. You have to get up and play. It is so much fun you will feel it the next day if you overdo it the first time out.

The hardest game so far
Like the other Xavix games, this is truly interactive. There is NO WAY to cheat on this. Pitching is a lot easier than batting. I can throw strikes like a pro but my hitting leaves a lot to be desired. In the beginning I thought (hoped) maybe my unit was not really working but when I tried selecting with the bat and doing some training it was quite obvious that the system was reading the sensors just fine. You really have to work on getting the timing just right.

If you love baseball and your "jozin" cause the season is over...this game is for YOU!!! YOU HAVE YOUR OWN BALL GAME IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR LIVING ROOM!!!! It is a total blast and is not like your standard "sit on the couch and push buttons" game. You are up and in on the action! MY husband is playing this game as I'm writting this review and keeps sayin' "DID YA SEE THAT?" He's having a BLAST!!! I've played it with him and I must agree it is WAY MUCH FUN!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME!!!
