It works great, but with a few caveats
To the people who complain about range: this device is meant to be used in a car. The transmitting device shouldn't be more than 3 feet away from this device at anytime.First and foremost: it works. And pretty well at that. But, it feels like a toy (i.e. light and plasticy) and pairing is fairly slow. In order to pair this device with your phone (after the initial pairing), you have to turn your phone's screen on (with bluetooth enabled), wait about 5 seconds for this device to turn on after you turn on your car, press and hold the center button for about 3 seconds, and then tap on the center button once more for music to start playing. Which, in all honesty, isn't that bad. It's just mildly inconvenient. From the time you start your car's engine to the time music starts playing should be take about 15 seconds once you do it a couple times. To pause, tap on the center button once. To call the last person you called, double tap on the center button. I have no idea why Mpow would make this device do that. I would rather it trigger Siri, Google Now, or whatever personal voice assistant your smartphone has. You can skip to the next song and go to the previous song by clicking on the volume buttons. Hold on the volume buttons, and you'll change the volume. But, the rate at which this device changes the volume is ridiculously slow. It's much quicker to just use your car's stereo's volume controls. Sound quality is as good as using an aux cable. There is a tiny delay between your phone issuing a sound and the car's stereo playing that sound. Well under a second, but definitely noticeable. This really should never be an issue. The wires that you have to have around in order to use this device get kinda crazy since I don't have a place in my car to hide this device and the aux cable it plugs into. But, it's manageable. This device strongly reminds of a knockoff iPhone 4 I once saw, cosmetically speaking. They look fairly similar, except this device is way, way smaller and is actually pretty good. I can't comment on this device's durability yet though (UPDATE: see below). In the Midwest, the temperature inside cars can range from 100+ degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to 0 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter. We'll see how long this device lasts. The included documentation states there's an 18-month warranty though. I haven't really had a chance to really test drive this device yet (at the time of this review posting, I've used it for maybe an hour total). From reading the manual and warranty information provided in the box this came in (which was actually pretty nice, if a bit of a ripoff of Apple's packaging), English clearly wasn't the writer's first language. But it was easily understandable. So, at least Mpow didn't just use Google Translate like some manufacturers. The box also claims FCC and CE certification since it has those logos. But, I didn't find the standard FCC certification statement anywhere in or on the box.UPDATE: This device is indeed durable. It has survived temperatures in the low 100s and in the negatives. I would recommend this particular device to everyone, if you have a need for such a device.

Would be great if it worked...
The first unit had a defective battery and would only work plugged in. The replacement worked for a week and then would not accept a charge or work plugged in. The bottom line is that there are serious quality control issues with this product. You may luck out and not have to deal with any of that, but if you value your time you'd be better off looking at other products. As far as actual performance while the product still worked... it worked very well about 10 feet from the receiver but would start cutting out at about 15 feet. The battery on the second unit lasted about 8 hours before dying. It's tiny and the controls are easy to use... I just wish it worked.Edit: The company asked me on a couple of occasions to modify my review. They even sent me another unit. While I appreciate their concern, it does not change my opinion of the product. Still think there are serious quality control issues & the range could be much better.

Could not get to maintain a connection 5 feet from device
I was really looking forward to this working. I had no choice but to test it in the location I was going to keep it. There are some electronics nearby and a WiFi router which could interfere with the signal, but I tested an independent bluetooth speaker in the same location and could get 20-30 feet before I got a broken signal. I could not get more than 5 feet from this without loosing signal. I have to return.UPDATE:It is possible that I received a product that was defective... I will be happy to admit that. Customer Service contacted me after reading my review and let me know that they were sorry and wanted to send me a new unit to try out. I informed them that it was not necessary as I had already purchased another product since I needed it in a timely fashion. I have returned this item and did not need anotherI will give them lots of credit for their good customer service response, and would be willing to try another product of theirs if I needed something other than this.

Bought one form monoprice that works much better. [Edited]
Edit:After writing my initial review the seller got in touch with me to offer a replacement device. I agreed to be open to it and they sent a new one. The first thing that I did when I opened the box was plug it in to charge it. With the original unit I plugged it in, it flashed the red charging LED for about 2 seconds, then went away. This remained lit the whole time. I've used it in my car multiple times and it plays well. I've had it in the car for over a week without charging it, using it about 30-60 min. at a time, and it has not run out of charge yet. Sound quality seems a little better with some better bass response than the original had, and way better than the Monoprice unit. The device does still seem to hiccup or drop sound every once in awhile. Yesterday it did it anytime my phone was less than a foot away so I am guessing this might be a sign that the battery is finally needing a charge. I am extremely happy with the support that the seller gave. Even after I failed to return the device within their return window they still wanted to make sure that I was a satisfied customer, and I am now.Worked ok for about two days. Battery refused to change and the sound quality was just ok. Bought one form monoprice that works much better.

Not worth the price !!! Disappointment !!
Ordered this bluetooth adaptor from USA through the seller ShopUSA2INDIA..The product reached after about 1 month from the order date. Contacted the seller and got to know that the product was not available from the USA vendor. Seller gave me a good service and had responded to my emails within few minutes..Finally received the product today and had lots of enthusiasm and eagerness (had waited for a month) and to my surprise it just killed the enthusiasm..The product is made up of plastic and is light and durable. I connect to my home system and it quickly got connected to my phone as well. However when I played some tracks it was a big disappointment... The sound used to break and the quality received wasn't at all great.I would have rather bought a Chinese product available in Indian market which would have given me almost the same performance ..Guys please do rethink before buying this.. I unfortunately read the reviews of this product on Amazon.com later otherwise would have not bought this product.
