Fun but way too many grammatical errors
Great little book. I would happily buy the next volume but they must get someone to proof read it before printing. There's a mistake on 1 in 3 pages. And the same number of reviews end with him saying the sound is disappointing. Apart from that, I loved and WOULD recommend you buy a copy.

Ignore the bad reviews, this is a very good compilation.
I'm not sure why this has bad reviews, it really is very good. There is the occasional grammatical error and the occasional spelling error (NOT on every page, some people do exaggerate...) but i don't find them intrusive enough to distract from the meaning of the text. I'm finding it to be a very good compilation of well written reviews, and most do NOT end with comments about bad sound. It has introduced me to some great games I never played back in the eighties, and I have enjoyed it. It looks lovely, and my hardback copy was very well produced. I really can't comprehend the bad reviews, for fans of the ZX Spectrum this is a good book.

AVOID! Bad printing, bad grammar, bad spelling, play by numbers reviews
As a long time Spectrum lover I couldn’t resist purchasing this. Any book that has information about the Spectrum and, in particular, it’s games is an insta-purchase from me.After my initial excitement about this book had worn off and I read it a second time, I realised that my initial review was very poor an unfairly lenient on this book. It is actually quite rubbish. There are 10 listings for each letter of the alphabet and, while the layout is simple and easy to read, the text is littered with grammatical and spelling mistakes which is unacceptable in a professional publishing. The information for the games gives you a brief description of such things such as the history of the game, the goal, how to play and how good the graphics and sound are, although most of the reviews seem to be play-by-the-numbers and come across as if the write has not actually played the games reviewed! The state that the book arrived in was totally unacceptable with dog eared edges and worn corners. The book also seems to have a printing issue which runs through each image of each game. It looks like white lines going through the images (see pics) and totally cheapens the look of the book. If I had bought this as a gift I would have sent it straight back.Overall, a disappointing read for the literate. If you're a teacher you'll probably enjoy this as you can get a good few hours of fun correcting all of spelling and grammatical mistakes.Summary: Shabbily printed. Bad condition. Boring, play-by-the-numbers reviews. Awful grammar and spelling. Avoid.

Awesome book of ZX Spectrum games
Great read and a real bit of nostalgia for fans of the ZX Spectrum personal computer. I remember a lot of the games from my childhood but can't play anymore as the ZX I have doesn't work with my TV. I would recommend this book to others. The artwork is really nice to view also.

Speccy Nostalgia Overload!
The good old Speccy is a machine I have almost limitless nostalgia for, so any new publication on it is always good in my book. While there are many other Spectrum related books out there this one comes from an established author who really knows his stuff and it shines through in his writing. Roll on volume 2!

Great nostalgia for any Spectrum fan
Ah the dear old Speccy, computer of choice for many millions in the 1980's. This book provides a great trip down memory lane, covering almost all the favourite games from the computer, and a few you may have forgotten about. Well written in a loving style that doesn't take itself too seriously and appeals to the true fan. Recommended.
