Tradescantia Albiflora Rainbow. Very rare and hard to find.house plant. Beautiful Variegated leaves - green, cream, white and pink. Great for hanging basket or ground cover. Potted plants are in 2.5x3.5 inch and they are well established with good root system. (See picture). the stems are about 2 to 3 inches and growing fast. They grow about an inch a week. The difference between The Rainbow and Lilac is that Rainbow has red stems and the colors of the leaves or more vivid and brighter than Lilac. Please note that the colors on each plant will be different. No two plants are the same. Some have more pink or cream or white than others. To maintain the variegated leaves, provide brighter light than other house plants with green only leaves because their two or three toned leaves have less chlorophyll, which is needed for growth. If the plant is not getting enough light, it will respond by making all-green leaves so it can make more chlorophyll. Place variegated plants near a window or artificial light source. A little morning sun is fine. Although Tradescantia needs moist soil to thrive it does not appreciate wet feet, which means a well-draining soil type is in order. This can easily be achieved by mixing some perlite into a regular potting soil. Make sure the pot you use has a draining hole so excess water can easily escape. Unglazed clay pots are great for this purpose. This plant is not fussy about humidity, so there is no need to find an extra humid location for it. Tradescantia is not fussy at all when it comes to pot size and can thrive in the same cramped pot for years. If you do eventually feel like repotting yours, Springtime is a good moment to do so.
