Reconditioned....is it worth the saving?
I'll start out right away by saying....... absolutely yes! I did a lot of research until I finally found the solution in this receiver. The product looks brand new in every way. The internet radio is fabulous and the audio quality superb. I'm too far away from a city to test the radio but with the internet radio function I'm fine. I'm using vinyl and this receiver has the pre-amp built in. The sound is superb for those of you looking for that vinyl solution. There is a lot of complexity to the receiver but don't let it intimidate you. Stay calm, read the directions (they're very good) and it all works. The receiver acts as a HDMI switch for all your HDMI inputs, it functions flawlessly and is simple to use.The unit is large , sturdy and heavy. It uses power transformer for power, meaning that the internal DC power does not need to use high power (meaning noisy) switching circuitry that could influence sound quality.I think that at the regular price this receiver is probably a good value but at this price this Yamaha TSR-7510 is an exceptional value and a purchase that really makes sense. Don't waste a lot of time "on the fence" about it. If you are wondering "maybe this is the one I should buy" then just buy it, you won't regret it. There was one small problem.....the remote came with a scratch in the plastic. I think I can live with that just fine.

Best 7.2 Receiver I've owned
Bought as "renewed" but it looked and functioned like new. Has many connections for just about every device you own. I have five retro gamig consoles, two next gen consoles, and a Fire TV hooked up without issue. A lot of features allowed me to adjust the audio exactly how I wanted for my space. I highly recommend wiring with banana plugs, it makes wiring the speakers so much easier and hassle-free. Has Vison, Atmos...this thing is loaded. Did I mention I saved over $100 buying renewed and has same 1 year warranty? No brainer.

Working well, but .....
Got my Yamaha TSR-7810 up and running, but it took exploring much of the 150 page Owner's Manual to get as far as I have. No "Quick Start" guide came with it! My Sony TV and Sennheiser headphones were purchased a few years ago, and I'm having difficulty figuring out hookups. Headphones only work with TV, but not with DVD, etc. The Denon model I replaced was very "plug and play" but not this one. It took me a long time to realize that I had to go buy a fiber optic cable for me to get sound through my system's speakers (found this solution on about page 117 of the manual!). The system menus were also hard to use during set up. However, after I installed the fiber optic cable, and then went through the AV Setup Guide app (easily downloadable) again, I now have it running. Now, all I need to do is to figure out how to tweak a couple things. Finally, one feature I really like is the "phono" provision for my turn table. I have a button for it on the system remote and I like that. If you use it, too, just remember to turn off your turn table pre amp (if it has one) before turning it on. I also was able to switch from connecting DVD, etc. with RCA cables to all HDMI cables, which made that part of the set up easier. But, am still struggling with incompatibility of some components, so will try to send it back.

Plenty of power for my medium living room, beautiful warm sound, great features
Paired with my Polk S55 (pair), PSW125, and TL150 speakers, it creates a beautiful, immersive home theater experience. The Atmos decoding is great, and with the YPAO analysis and calibration, really provides extra depth (er, height) to any movie soundtrack - even if not Atmos or DTS:X encoded. Music is also a joy for listening with detailed highs/mids and full, satisfying bass. The YPAO calibration did about 90% of the work, and I only made small adjustments per my preferences. It responds exactly as it should to most HDMI-CEC controls, auto-switching between the inputs which include my eARC-connected TV, Roku, and Chromecast. It also responds to volume control from the Roku or TV remote. XBox One S doesn't control via HDMI-CEC so far, but that's not a surprise because XBox has always been finicky in this way. The HDMI input names automatically reflect the connected device. The on-TV menus look great, and I like the fact that the front-panel display shows enough info that I know how it's decoding and current volume level without having to interrupt my on-screen entertainment.I tried a Sony str-dh790 before this, and this unit far exceeds the Sony's performance and audio quality. The only drawback (and I knew this before purchasing) is the fact that it won't decode 7.1.2. It's either back surround or height speakers, not both at the same time. Again, this is not a big deal to me, and I personally think the height channels are more effective for a high and wide sound stage. It also has pre-outs for each channel, so this is a great entry to more high-end HT setups with dedicated channel amps or bi-amping. I got a refurb unit, but there was absolutely no evidence of its previous use or unboxing. I'm very happy with this purchase.
