Great product
First impressions of the Aircut are very good. It arrived much sooner than was indicated when I placed my order. Packaging was sufficient, everything arrived undamaged. I tried it right away and was very impressed. A couple of things to note:1. Suction is absolutely adequate. I have thick, straight hair and this thing was able to easily pull my hair to the blades. Not sure why there are so many comments saying suction isnt very good. I'm wondering if these people do not have their filter in correctly or are not cleaning it frequently enough which would cause a decrease in suction.2. I found the size of the device very manageable. It is light and maneuverable, not that much bigger than many hairdryers. Very easy to move around my head. Also, it looks like it should be very easy to store, shouldn't take up much room at all.3. The noise is reasonable, again, not much (if any) louder than a hairdryer.4. Cuts evenly, very happy with the results. No difference at all from the cut I would get at the local barber. Never owned a Flowbee, so cannot compare, but it took me about 10 minutes start to finish. Changing out attachments was also very simple and quick.5. Obviously, it's really nice not having to mess with a seperate vacuumCons:1. I wish there were more attachments included. Most men will be happy with the lengths available but, as others have mentioned, you cannot stack the attachments like the Flowbee and the longest length is only 4 inches.2. You will likely have to clean the filter multiple times per cut. The filter area is relatively small and can fill up quickly which will reduce suction. Luckily it takes like 20 seconds to clean out and put back together. Not a big deal.Overall, I am very happy with this product and I think it will end up saving me a small fortune in haircuts over time. Not to mention, the results are often hit or miss when other people are cutting my hair anyway. Also, considering how easy and quick it is to use, my hair will always have that fresh cut look which obviously is a great benefit. Great buy, no-brainer purchase as far as I'm concerned.

Not a bad option when you need to cut your own hair
This is my second device for cutting hair, the first looked more like a small vacuum cleaner and did a really great job, but some wires broke on it and I bought this one to replace it. This one is also a lot more portable, so I was intrigued being able to easily store it in my bathroom.Pros:Despite what some of the reviews say, it does indeed work. I don't know if they had super thick hair or didn't know how to use it, but it does cut hair, you just need to know what you are doing. It requires going over spots multiple times and holding the unit in place in some cases until the hair is cut. If you can do that, it WILL cut your hair. It's small and quiet. It's easy to handle and operate. It's easy to clean.Cons:It has too few options for cutting lengths. On my previous cutter, you could refine your cut to a millimeter. This meant that if you wrote down your previous measurements and had a steady hand, you could duplicate your hair cut each time. This model has only preset lengths that vary about a half-an-inch between them. In many cases, that's more than the barber would even trim you. This also means that you can't trim your sides below a half-inch as I used to do because there's not a shorter trimming attachment. If you want to try and go lower than that, you can take the preset hair guides off and try to do it yourself, which I have done. Risky, as if you don't have a steady hand, you could end up looking like your five-year old cut your hair. They need to figure this out.You will have to go over your hair multiple times. My last unit took one or two rollovers to cut your hair, but this unit requires me going back and forth repeatedly to get a uniform cut. Maybe an improvement in power would fix this. Just the same, IT DOES CUT HAIR, DON'T BELEIVE THE REVIEWS THAT SAYS IT DOESN'T.Overall, I'm happy and would recommend it--just spend some time and learn how to use it and you should be fine.

Defective or poor design
Worked fine the first time used. Oiled before first use. After use, cleaned and oiled. The vacuum cleaner part works even now, but the cutting blades will not work no matter what I do. The design is very poor as it relies on the filter activating a microswitch, else it will not work. I hear the micro switch click when I press the filter in, made sure the outside cover is in properly, but blades just will not work. DO NOT BUY!!!! AS THE DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP LOOKS GOOD, BUT JUST DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY IN PRACTICE. I am returning this, but see that the vendor must send me the return label. Will update on how the refund went.

Excellent, well designed, and especially great for cutting your own hair.
I have used the AirCut almost since it's inception around 2009. It is very well designed. It is lightweight with a modular cutting head and is very easy to position to cut your own hair. It comes with a very generous length of power cord and has the added advantage of using a power brick which has it's own cord so plugging into the wall is easy. Just position the power brick at a convenient location. From the power brick they use a very flexible and thin DC power cord going directly to the unit as opposed to a heavy AC cord. Essentially, it feels like a wireless unit when you are using it. The DC cord is very long. The AirCut is easy to maintain and is very consistent in cutting. You can cut your own hair when you want at a big savings. I initially bought two units, one as a backup and they have lasted me over 15 years. That has been a lot of haircuts. I just bought my third unit for peace of mind.
