Deeply Moving.
The quality imagery and photographs are Superb. The personae of a man is revealed in his "on" moments as well his "off" moments, and the dearth of negatively captured images amongst this plethoric collection of well-crafted projections stand as a revelation of this mans inner Spirit, if you would, as do numerous photographs of any man. If you are here reading this review, you know you want this book. Buy it! You are asking yourself: are there that may photographs; are they truly very good, are they new, clear and sharp, refreshing and unseen before, is the book made well, and is it full of Allied-hate propaganda? Yes, to all! The book is most heavy, with excellent papiér and fine binding ( for what spent) replete with what could appear as one of Himmler's private photo albums. Extensive and a beauty to behold, though in no means exhaustive. A coffee table book of the excellent ordre, and of a quality one would see at Museums. This book, as well as Himmler's Camelot, deserve be bound in supple leather with fine gilt end-pages and Smyth bound interior.Ordre Now. One click and you are on your way.

Ideology on one man taken to the extreme!!
I have to admit that Max Williams has really done an exceptional book on Himmler! The beginnings of this man from his early years to the second most powerful man in Germany is covered in detail!! For such a weakly looking man to profess the Nazi idealization on individuals is so absurd, especially from educated men to follow!! History it seems to be repeatedly showing this form of repression such as China, North Korea, Middle East and Africa to mention a few countries of the world! This book I believe shows the tendencies of insanity to the extremes as also mentioned in the Bible! When will we (mankind) ever learn from our past!! So many innocent people pay the price for leaders mis-aligned allegiance!! Where is the answer to all this confusion but within our selves to each other!! The most difficult thing is to take the first step of accepting each other without comparing our faults and appearances! Now that is Something!!

It provides a fairly good overview of Himmler's career
Max Williams' book is a must-have for any World War II aficionado. What makes this book invaluable is the collection of photographs that comprise the last six hundred pages of the book--many are rare and have never been seen before. I've been using this book extensively to describe people and locations for a WWII-era novel I am writing. The textual portion of the book (the first 150 pages) is very basic and is a history of Himmler based on his diary entries. It provides a fairly good overview of Himmler's career, but I would not rely on it to provide a fleshed out biography of Himmler.

Great Informative Book on Himmler's History
I'm very satisfied with this book. It provides a good summary of Himmler's life and lots of neat photos taken from the third reich period of Himmler. I definitely read this book during my spare time and with that being said I'm an SS enthusiast and Max Williams is a great author and is very accurate with providing information of third reich history. This book is well worth the time to buy and read if you're in to learning additional facts based on the Waffen-SS.

Finally secured my copy, just moments ago, and am prompted yet again to state categorically and unequivocally that Max Williams is and will always be the foremost photo chronicler of the SS leadership corps. An absolute masterpiece, as are the three volumes of his "SS Elite" series.~ Mike Millerhttps://www.amazon.com/Michael-D.-Miller/e/B01DLKKJVA/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0

GREAT collection of photos
I found this book to be awesome in it's collection of photos. I've seen numerous photos of Himmler, but this book has photos I've never seen before. At 768 pages, I think it is a "must" for anyone who'd like a photo-journal of Himmler or the SS.

Priceless compilaiton for a WW2 history buff.
This is an amazing compilation. Besides the photographs, many of which I have never seen before, the book gives an almost day by day account of Himmler's activities. This book is priceless for a WW2 history buff.
