beautiful sweater classic

Purchased this for my Dad, who has a similar one from a different brand and likes to wear it everyday. Now he can alternate! The other one is a machine washable blend while this one is only hand washable but thicker and has a more interesting pattern. Most importantly, my Dad loves it - it fits just right. Good price for the quality.

This sweater was a gift to my husband and it fits very well. True to size. It is well made and thick. Not too thick though. It will keep him warm when needed and looks real nice. Can be easily dressed up with a shirt and tie underneath.

The sweater is beautiful. The color is rich and vibrant. The fit is perfect!

The quality of this Aran sweater is exactly what I was looking for. It is heavy and warm. I really like it. I wish the description of the different wool products could be more objective, giving information such as weight/cm2, or wool grade.

I bought this sweater for my husband for Christmas after he loved the previous grey one (same brand,same material, same pattern, same size) I’d given him the year before. They’re warm, comfortable and look super stylish under his leather jacket when we go out.The only problem is that the grey one has gotten just a wee bit smaller each time I’ve washed it despite going through the machine on the hand wash setting with cold water and laying it out flat to dry. At this stage the grey one still fits him but just barely. The sleeves are on the edge of too short now. Hopefully this new one won’t diminish in proportions the same way.

I was looking for an affordable wool sweater that would be more substantial than the thinner sweaters I wear under a jacket (like the Pendleton Shetland Crew Neck for example). I compared this sweater to the similar Aran Crafts sweater. The Aran Crafts sweater had a looser weave. Other reviewers remarked that it was "see-through." That in itself doesn't bother me, but I noticed the same looseness of the knitting compared to this Carraig Donn sweater. I weighed a size small of each and found this one weighed just over 24 ounces, whereas the Aran Crafts was 21 ounces. The Aran Crafts is 25 to 30% less costly, but is more loosely knit and has less wool. If I was buying a half-dozen of these, the Aran Crafts might be the better value, but since these are both under a hundred dollars, I prefer this Carraig Donn for its slightly superior quality.

Love this sweater!!! So comfortable and warm. Great quality. Fit is just like I wanted. Not heavy like an equivalent size and thickness cotton sweater would be. Not as light as an acrylic. Sleeves are perfect length too, which is sometimes a problem for me as my arms are a bit on the long side. Colour is as pictured. More than I've ever spent on a sweater, but it was worth it! Oh, and the merino wool is not itchy, either. I wear the sweater with a lightweight t-shirt underneath. Of course, if it's windy out you're going to need something to break the wind, as this sweater is very loose knit.
