I was really pulling for this book after reading so many positive “life changing” reviews. Despite the negative reviews on here, I wanted to prove my doubts wrong and really love this read. Not to discredit the author - because she is obviously successful- but I have to agree with some of the 2 and 1 star reviews left on here, in that I felt that the book was just a bunch of wordy cliche “words”. And each chapter keeps eluding to this big reveal of the secret to “being a million dollar stylist” but it doesn’t really ever clearly say how to achieve this. There’s really no timeline or organization throughout each chapter and it was a lot of common sense and lulls. I will say that it sounds like this girl obviously has a passion for the hair industry and has clearly made her way and worked hard for it no doubt. I was just really bummed with the book content and was hoping to gain a lot of takeaway and new insight from this book but it was an extremely quick read and I don’t really remember reading anything significant.

I don't even do hair and I find this book absolutely inspiring. It was recommended to me by a friend who knows I love to write. And if you're a good writer people will want to read whatever you put out and Marquetta has done just that.Million Dollar Stylist ery easy to read and communicates an important piece of business that we forget: you are empowered to do great things if you're willing to work at it. Seriously. I couldn't imagine what she describes in this book as being a reality for so many stylists: they are good at what they do but are stuck at a booth making next to nothing. If you want to do better than that, Marquetta has the answers because she brought herself from practically poor and broke to a HUGE success not by reinventing the wheel but by creating a doable system. You're not going to learn new weave technique in this book. You aren't going to learn how to make a better cut. But you will DEFINITELY learn a new way of doing business that anyone can do if they are willing to master their skills in several areas. It almost made me want to pick up a pair of scissors!

The review from B D prior to this is absolutely exactly how I felt. Mostly a mindset book but really no real technique on what to do, but maybe an intro to trying to del you her program, and even that is not too specific, the websites are listed in the back cover but doesn’t even really tries to take you to go there. Uplifting? Maybe. She does have a passion for the industry but not what I though the book offered after the reviews I read

This book is an absolute gift and blessing .Before read it I felt like giving up in the hair industry Id spend many hours standing behind the chair thinking this was the only way to make ends meet . Cosmetology School doesn't teach you the skills you'll need to build a business. This book is a must for stylist like me who need the extra motivation and guidance to make it in this field.The information you'll receive is clear concise and direct. What I love most about this book is that anyone can understand what Marquetta says and not only can it be used in the hair industry but also any other entrepreneurial fields. You will never really understand the hair industry without reading this book. Marquetta's so relatable and to the point you can see the years of experience shes has in the business . Im so thankful that Marquetta wrote this book , it really has changed my life.

I have read this book, repeatedly and purchased the CD system. I love it! I have learned so much and have slowly started to implement some of the items that were suggested in the book. I even gave a copy to a co-worker. She is in the process of reading it now. I have started to read her other book Fully Booked and I believe I will be able to gain some new ideas to implement from this book also. I recommend new stylist and seasoned stylist to pick this up. It will help them a great deal.

I read this book and it provided me with great information on how I can be better and earn more in the industry. I'm a multicultural hair stylist and I work on all types of hair textures. But I am stuck because I am not doing hair as much now. I didn't know what I needed, should, or could be doing to advance my career. I have now established a social media presence and started filming videos. I am making the strides towards better financial success with the help of Marquetta Breslin and this book. If you are in the beauty industry and want more for yourself and your career then you definitely need to pick up a copy of this book. I used to think the only way to get ahead is spend more time behind the chair, learn more styling skills, but this book tells you that there are better ways to earn more income without leaving yourself a lot of time at home.

Million Dollar Stylist was the first book I purchased before I purchased her other book Fully Booked. What I was able to do from reading this book was change my stinking thinking of me never being able to fill my books, make the income I desired and gaining the clientelle I wanted. This book has been a life changer for me in so many ways, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

This book had a few good suggestions...but overall I felt I was scammed...it's just a very wordy lead in to buy more of her other products ...awful for people who really want to better they're lives...I wasted money I didn't have to try to better my business...don't buy it

This book was just what I needed when life had hit me with some personal challenges. I loved that I felt that as I was reading Marquetta's book that I was "getting to know her" in a personal way. It challenges your thinking and gives you hope that there is money outside the Salon and doing services.
