The Twelve Gifts in Marriage (Twelve Gifts Series, 2)

This book is beautiful. The pages tell a story of an old man giving advice to a younger couple. That story is followed by the 12 gifts of marriage, which are sets of advice like "Show love when you come and go." "Make time for play every day." The book leaves ample space both in the inside cover and on these "gift" pages to write messages, so I used this as a guest book at a bridal shower. All of the women at the shower were able to write their wishes for the bride inside the book. We also read from the book during the shower. It made the perfect gift.

This is a wonderful book for reflection of the gifts of marriage. A wonderful way to celebrate & keep working on virtues as each year of marriage progresses into the next. I have been giving this book as wedding gifts. A lot of times the couples have been living together for some time & I want to give something meaningful and possibly for them to look back to as a guide. To remind them of the reason they got married in the first place.

Practicing the twelve gifts of marriage would definitely make for a beautiful marriage. From now on this book will be part of my wedding gift to anyone I know getting married. I purchased it as an anniversary gift for my husband.

A great wedding gift!

Purchased this book to give my son and soon to be daughter-in-law as one of their wedding gifts at the end of this month. The book is charming, well written, and has wonderful illustrations and photos. I will purchase one for my husband and I of 41 years. Would highly recommend.

The story and messages in The Twelve Gifts of Marriage are so important that I give this book, along with a crystal to hang in the window, (as suggested in the story) to all my wedding couples. (I am an ordained minister.)

Although the "gifts" of marriage sound simplistic, they are, indeed, the basis of every marriage. If couples would review these at least weekly, perhaps they could keep the lines of discussion open and honest.
