In comparison to artists colored pencils . . .
When I purchased this and 2 other lead colors, I wanted to compare them to col-erase prismacolor pencils which I really like, but I dislike having to sharpen all the time. The three colors of Pilot Color Eno lead are great! The 0.7mm fits right into other american brand pencil bodies with no slippage or problems (I used BIC and some random company one I had), and the lead does not seem overly fragile. The blue color erases pretty cleanly.A warning that there are only 10 leads in each box.

A very Cyan color . .
The soft blue seems to erase less cleanly than the regular blue which is the only reason for my 4 vs 5 star rating. If you don't press too hard it shouldn't be that much of an issue. If you had Col-Erase light blue and this color right next to each other, this color has more cyan in it, shifted a little more toward green.A note that there are only 10 leads in each box.

Best for sketching on smooth surfaces, avoid toothy surfaces for increased convenience.
Perfectly balanced between being soft enough to leave a legible line and yet hard enough not to break while sketching. Because of its softness you don't need to be firm to see your lines and try to sketch lightly to make lead last longer. This is best suited for smooth or plate surfaces. Do not use on cheap all purpose paper as rough paper will wear down lead like drawing with a crayon on very coarse sandpaper.

Great for underlying sketches or a pop of color
I use this for underlying sketches in my sketchbook. So far, the lead is very smooth and hasn't broke once! I did have some difficulty putting it into my mechanical pencil, but that could be just my pencil and not the lead. The blue comes out as very light and is perfect for when you want to get the basics down, and do the detailing later. Microns go over the top of these without any breakage, and the lines erase rather cleanly. I do wish there were more leads in the pack, but since I don't eat through lead I think it'll last.

I hope it lasts a good while. I bought for a co-worker
Came from Japan...took 4 weeks to arrive but it did arrive in one piece. Could not find an American supplier for red pencil lead! I ordered 4 tubes...I hope it lasts a good while. I bought for a co-worker...haven't heard any complaints so I'm assuming it's a good product. Just wish supplier was on the USA.

Erases well, doesn't break easily unless too much pressure is used.
Erases well.Doesn't break easily unless I forget and use too much pressure.Doesn't smudge in my sketchbook.Allows me to do a loose drawing in blue, then use graphite to get a tighter finished drawing.

Great Choice!
Needed to be able to write in red pencil for my job, and I dislike the bluntness of colored pencils, so purchasing red lead seemed like the way to go. I read lots of reviews before choosing this brand and type of red lead; many others claimed the lead was more pink than red or faded quickly, but the Eno Neox works perfectly! It is clearly red. Only con is it seems to break easily, but I just have to be careful with how much is sticking out the end of the pencil. Recommend this product!

My favourite for sketching
I love sketching using this light blue colour. The mines tend to break easily but maybe it’s just me. Perfect for the job. Although, very expensive!

Not a lot to say - excellent refills for the Pilot Mechanical Pencil.

Break easily
Was hoping for a better quality lead than what I got. Rare to go more than a few minutes without snapping, even when going as light as possible.
