More ABBA Gold

For those who have seen the play and/or movie "Mamma Mia," this collection has four of the songs used (in one and/or the other): "Honey, Honey, " " I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do," "Our Last Summer," and "When All is Said and Done." This, too, is a great collection and supplement to the original "Gold" album. The opening number "Summer Night City" provides a splashy opening. I like " The Day Before You Came." As the song progresses, the background (harmonies) becomes increasingly rich. I also like the video that came with this song. There is majestic "Eagle" and "Ring, Ring" one of their early hits--and one partially written by Neil Sedaka. This collection is like a catalog of different styles and sub styles popular during the 1970s and early 80s. Technically, this album is not available in the US, except as an import. So, if you can get it, do so.

Big ABBA fan and got their greatest hits album quickly

It gets a 4 simply because I really like all these songs:b-side hits, low-chart faves, and international hits that never really made it here in the US as big as the #1's on ABBA: Gold. But sadly, unlike ABBA: Gold, these tracks were obviously not re-mixed/updated to the more 'modern' quality. They sound like they're playing through the underdash cassette player in my 70's Corolla with the single 3-inch dash speaker - muddy, muddled, lo-res, limited audio range, etc. I already have all these on The Definitive Collection, which is also of about the same quality. I know it's a lot of work, time consuming, expensive, and financially risky to do quality studio updates - but I'd bet there are plenty of buyers just waiting. Hopefully the Mamma Mia sequel will trigger yet another round of interest.

What is there to say about ABBA? They are great!

If you like ABBA you will like this CD; worth the money.

I Love Playing this whilst I commute. It makes the time pass pleasurably and I find I drive less aggressively.
