Great eye candy, but plot gaps EVERYWHERE!
A great read describing the origins of Akuma and his seduction to the Dark Hadou. This book includes the 20+ year development of Akuma as a child, to his training with Goutsetsu and more, but there are several gaps in the story that makes one scratch their head, including not revealing how he learned certain killing techniques that made him famed and feared in the Street Fighter world.Nevertheless, the art is extremely detailed and a worthy addition to UDON's Street Fighter comic line. Includes easter eggs and fan service for any Akuma fan. Would certainly recommend this to anyone who's a fan of SF or Akuma, but don't expect a full origin, this graphic novel catalogs bits and pieces of Akuma's life from childhood to at least 10-15 years before his "killing" of Gouken.

I got to see how this character is so well-written.
Akuma/Oni has been my favorite antagonist in Street Fighter along with Ryu/Evil Ryu being my favorite protagonist.

A tale of revenge and the choices we make..
I've always wondered about Akuma's origins. Reading this was pretty much everything I sought out. I think this would make an amazing screen play if Capcom were to ever give fans a truthful Street Fighter movie. Another reader mentioned that he wished it were longer and I couldn't agree more. It's a good read and I'll probably be re-reading this over and over again.

Fantastico

The media could not be loaded.

Loved it
High quality production from UdonNo need to go into plot (The book title says it all) needless to say it is basic and solidI've always liked Udon's Street Fighter series since it first came into publication, as it fleshes out the mythos on the characters that many of us have grown up with. The only draw back on the series as a whole has been the artwork, some of it is absolutely fantastic whereas some of it is quite the opposite, making for a jarring visual continuityNot the case with this one though, Joe Ng and team masterfully handle the visuals throughout, lending to a continuous narrative (a lot of publishers keep forgetting this) and it is further amplified by the large format of the book which makes the action scenes pure eye candyThe only gripe I had, was that it was that interesting, that I read the whole thing straight through - I wish it could have gone on for longerRecommended if you are a fan of either Akuma, Street Fighter or the Udon books in general - well worth it
