Large difference between the old and new.
This is a welcome update to the controller. The knobs are larger and easier to use, to say nothing about being well protected as well. The display is easy to read as well. Worth the purchase.

The problem is that this is little better than what NCE was producing 20 years ago.

wireless opens up a new dimension in operation
Being able to control multiple trains along with switch control capability without wires makes operation very different (great). if you have a room size layout this is a must have. this is easy setup. you need UR93 to use wireless along with some base station I am using with DCS52. there is a an infra red option but has limitations. it can be used wired but there are cheaper options for that.
