If you are a long time consumer of Ceremonial grade Matcha from Japan, you will find that this tea , grown in China, is a bit different. While perhaps not quite as sweet and subtle as Ceremonial Matcha, this set is worth 5 stars to me for several reasons. My first cup of this tea was definitely strong in flavor, but pleasant. I tried the tea as both tea and a smoothie ingredient, and was pleasantly surprised by both. While this may not be the most perfect Matcha known to man, it has a quality that is MUCH higher than the price would suggest, along the lines of an excellent Culinary grade tea. The generous 4oz envelope come with an electronic whisk that takes 2 AA batteries (not included.) Not only is the price exceptional, but a portion of every purchase goes to breast cancer research. I was pleased to receive a discount coupon to use at purchase in exchange for my honest review. For those of us who depend on the healthy phytonutrients to prevent cancer and other diseases, this item is priceless. This is a heathy organic Matcha that is affordable to most, and that makes it a winner!

I am not a big green tea drinker because it is often bitter. Well I have discovered that is because I was drinking substandard product. I absolutely love this stuff!! I am able to drink it in the afternoon during my short "me time", it gives me some pep in my step and not affect my sleeping at night. I attended back to school night with my children and woke up feeling *blah*. I was stuffed up with a sore throat and decided to drink this to see the positive effectiveness. 2 cups with very little local honey and I am back to feeling normal. The fine powder and the whisk mixer is the key for a wonderful healthy cup of green tea. Not bitter / sour, it is smooth tasting, but very green. I do believe that it is really assisting with helping to clean my gut of build up - if you know what I mean... Drink some water after your first few cups and you will help those kidneys clean right up. I have a sensitive gut and this has been a great help for this last week. I plan on keeping this in my daily routine for overall health improvement.

This matcha tea has a bit of a stronger flavor than some of the others. I wouldn't say its bitter, just a bit stronger. However, when you consider its half the price you have to decide what is important to you. It is bright green and gets nice and foamy on top when you whisk it. The whisk is quite powerful and works well, also for making lattes. I love drinking matcha tea. I would prefer to drink the high quality stuff, but don't like to pay the price. I enjoy this tea and drink it regularly, and find it to be a good value. If you are looking for an affordable way to drink a reasonably high quality tea then this is for you. If you only like the really expensive, very mild flavored stuff you may not be happy with this. But if you are up for some good matcha at an excellent price then this is perfect.

I love this matcha green tea. This is just exactly the same powdered green tea which i bought from tokyo, japan. The only thing that i was a little disappointed is that the free stirring that comes with it is not functioning. Even i put the right batteries in it. Other than that, the quality of this matcha green tea is very good.

Mixes well. Glad the whisk was free, because it's definitely worth the cost... Will order again because of package size and quality.
