Anime Follows Magna
I liked the anime series and thought I would read the manga to see if they where any differences, The manga is true to the anime version and if you enjoy the manga you should try the anime series. Be warned it is rated MA for a reason.

I had to buy all of the volumes...
I am a big fan of the anime as well, and after hearing about the author returning from his hiatus I can't wait for volume 10!

This is how the anime should have been shown!
One of the best volumes of manga I've ever read. Without spoiling anything, let's just say compared to the anime, this is where the manga places the events in an entirely new direction and executes it perfectly. I feel like Rei Hiroe really likes this part in the series which I'm surprised he introduces this part so much earlier in the manga than in the anime. Anyway, highly recommended and a real comfortable read with excellent pacing as always.

Enter the Yakuza
Volume 4 kicks off with the action-packed finale of "Goat, Jihad, Rock'n Roll", then Rock returns to Japan working as an interpreter for Balalaika when the Russians set their sights on the Yakuza in "Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise". I love Yakuza stories so I was really excited when Black Lagoon came back to Japan, and it absolutely did not disappoint, this has all the makings of a classic gangster movie and shows how talented a writer Rei Hiroe really is.

Not as good as previous volumes but
Still really enjoying the merry band of mercenaries that Hiroe has created. Not too sure about the story direction far preferring the action based stuff to the crime syndicate type politics that are at the forefront in this book. Will definitely be getting further books when I can though because I loved the previous story arcs and am hoping to a return to their usual delivery job adventures like before.
