and pre amp work nice - the one thing the reviewers knocked about this ...
When I opened the box I had flashbacks of Esteban Guitars. (The Guitar did not come with a gig bag either.) If I were in a music store I would not have paid $200- maybe $125. This is a computer/machine made guitar. There is no craftsmanship to this guitar. The body's very light, the fret-board is very cheaply made, and the strings sit high off the fret-board. One positive thing I can say about this guitar is that the tuner, and pre amp works nice - the one thing the reviewers knocked about this guitar. Another positive thing I can say about this guitar is that it has a good tone. Save your money and buy a better guitar.

"Almost Perfect"
I didn't buy this guitar from Amazon, but I thought this review might help whoever might be considering a crossover/hybrid guitar. The guitar I purchased happened to be a second I found in a local shop. It was stamped inside the sound hole as "Almost Perfect," which it nearly is, excepting a bit too high action. This guitar really plays like a wide body steel string, yet retains a mellow nylon sound. As hybrids go, it's pretty good. You won't find much better even in the higher price categories. Played through my Fishman Loudbox Mini, this guitar sounds great. No feedback at all. A quality amp make a huge difference, though. This guitar is very good for blues picking, folk, classical, Latin, jazz, bossa, and even a bit of flamenco. It also sounds nice with a pick if that's your thing. The neck is comfortable, and very nicely profiled. The top has slightly more projection unplugged than most laminates on the market. The finish is well done, though I would have preferred matte to gloss. Considering it has electronics built in, it's still a fairly light weight guitar. Tuners, intonation and setup are spot on, despite the high action (this is probably why it was marked as "almost perfect"). There's a slight blem on the head stock, where some moisture got into the finish. I paid a whole lot less than the asking price on Amazon (around $150). You should never pay full price on an instrument, even a brand new $10,000 Martin. Every guitar is unique (even the same model) and has its own price. Always ask for a discount, and remember, as soon as it leaves the shop it looses at least 60% of its retail value! For what its worth, this is a good student guitar, coffeehouse performer, or knock around parlor guitar. Looks like it will take a fair amount of abuse. Overall, this is a good guitar for me; for someone else, meh, probably not, the way you play is totally different from me. Go get your hands on one and see if it works out.

Great buy for under $300
I just bought this yesterday. I've been playing for about 30 years and have a Taylor, Martin and an old lawsuit Takamine 12 string.I also play the ukulele (Kamaka and customs) and decided I wanted to try a nylon stringed guitar. I don't like the fat necks that are on most classical guitars. This neck is not as wide as a classical and not as chunky either. In fact, the neck is silky smooth. I'm not sure if it would be considered "satin finish," but it's real nice.I believe it has a cedar top, mahogany laminate back and sides. No sharp edges on the frets. You can plug it in and it has a tuner built in. Like most nylon string guitars, it can be a bit plunky, but when you finesse it, it has that great ring and you feel like you should be playing the sound track to an old western gun fight.I played it for about 9 or 10 hours the first day I got it. Fingers didn't hurt the next day and played for about 3 hours more the 2and day.I rarely write reviews, but if you're looking to try out a nylon stringed guitar for less than $300, this is the one you want.

Buona
