La Petite Creme - French Diapering LotionAlternative to Baby Wipes Liniment (Starter Kit with Washcloths)

I normally make my own wipe solution but my twins are teething and keeping up with cloth diaper laundry for 2 AND making wipe solution has been a bit of a chore. I broke down and looked for an alternative that would work with my cloth diapers, cloth wipes and maybe even give me the opportunity to skip the extra step of diaper cream. This does not disappoint. It has an olive oil base that coats their tiny bums and creates a barrier so they stay rash and irritation free. There is no smell or any ingredients I can't pronounce so it's close to what I make on my own. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again and may actually do so to keep in my diaper bag for changes on the go.

So after a week of use, here is my review of the fancy, French baby butt creme: First of all, I'm convinced no baby craps more than Gigi. Chick crapped 5 times today, so we were needing something to keep her cleaner and put the protective shield up. This product does that.Pros: you use it as a 2 in 1, so you squeeze the lotion onto a wipe and use it to clean up the poop and wipe her down. This also leaves a film (much thinner than Desitin) that protects for the next blowout. She has had zero rashes since starting. And this is coming from someone that uses diaper creme constantly.Cons: not convenient. You have to have disposable cotton pads to use instead of reusable wipes. The company wants you to use reusable cotton cloths/wipes and just wash them afterwards. I'm not carrying around a crap covered wipe until I get home. Sorry. So just get cotton pads.I found the solution: besides the cotton pads, I use a baby wipe to get the initial filth off her, then use the cremed pad for the additional cleaning, still leaving the film. This works best and she's not miserable from rash.So ultimately, this stuff is great, but u need to commit to gross if you want to use it the way they intend it to be used.

Very nice product that came beautifully wrapped. I love it for my own baby and will consider giving as a gift. The cream is lovely and soft, very gentle for baby. **I am updating my review and adding a star! I stopped using La Petite Creme because frankly I found it to be a little too much hassle versus just grabbing a disposable wipe BUT--my daughter has had a terrible diaper rash off and on (mostly on) since she was born (she's 6 months now). I had tried every kind of dialer rash cream, powder, etc. and nothing helped. On a huntch, I tried La Petite Creme again and within one diaper change, I could see a difference. I now use it with every dialer change and it is a miracle! I will never go back now--I'm so pleased that this is working for her very sensitive skin.

I don't necessarily think this is a bad product, it just didn't work for us. My daughter has sensitive skin and gets diaper rash any time we have used conventional wipes. Our current method is to wet a clothe wipe with plain water to clean her up. I saw this product and thought it might work well for use and that the oil in in might help to protect her skin. However, within two days of using this product she had a diaper rash (there were no other changes in routine or diet at the time). I will not be using it again. I don't think this would happen to everyone but I could not recommend this product for a baby with very sensitive skin. The packaging was nice and the product smells and feels nice.

We purchased a starter kit when our baby was born, six months ago and we've been refilling the travel size bottle to take in the diaper bag. We are very happy with this liniment and we highly recommend it for everyone who wants to avoid applying weird chemicals on their baby's bottom. Great product!

Great product, but the cloth wipes are cheap and junky

I bought this bundle at a baby expo. I had been wary of other cleansers that I've seen, but when I tried it at the expo I was pleasantly surprised. We have cloth diapered both of our girls, but have used disposable wipes up until now. Our current baby has sensitive skin and this cream is great because it cleans her skin but also helps protect and moisturize it without having to add any other products. It easily cleans up poop messes with a small amount of the cream. I love that it is cloth diaper safe and that I can use a washcloth, or other soft cloth, and just throw them into the wash with the diapers.

Every few months we fight a rash caused by the wetness from her cloth diapers. In the mornings she would wake up red also. We previously used just water and maybe a little coconut oil at diaper changes. This product has been a game changer.It seemed daunting on a poopy diaper but the cream really cleans just as well as a disposable wipe. Even better than just water.Since we started using this we haven't had any redness or irritation. We love it!
