I gave 5 stars because of the price, and the fact that you can plug it in if you'd like, instead of having to buy batteries (but you can put batteries in it if you'd rather not plug it in)! It also comes with 2 extra blades, and you can put it all in the little black drawstring bag that comes with it. All in all, it's a great little fabric shaver. It really gets the job done, and I've been able to resurrect some of my favorite clothes that have "pilled" over time. It worked like a charm, and the blade is still sharp even after I've used it on several articles of clothing. Plus, it's really easy to clean. All you do is empty the little receptacle that's attached that collects the fuzz, into the trash. Ta-da! That's it.

I like the pink color, I like that the machine comes with a nice sack to keep it in, and how easy the batteries were to put into machine, but the battery cover is loose and does not stay in place, easily falling off. Also- inside the user manual the product info said it was to come packaged with a micro to USB charging cable. It did not.This is my first time buying a Fabric Shaver, so unsure of how well any fabric shaver works- but directions said it has three settings, took me awhile to get it to move to closest setting. I tried using the shaver without the protective cover which has the three settings, thinking it will get closer- but I would NOT recommend doing that- there is a reason for the protective cover- it protects your clothes from being sucked up into machine as it was trying to de-pill the clothing. Does NOT work better taking cover off. NOT a good idea.Not sure if I can recommend yet this shaver. So far I am disappointed with 2 things: the loose battery cover, which hinders the way you have to hold it to keep cover on, and NO included micro USB charging cord.The slow progress in removing pills just might be normal, and I am wanting things to be too quickly accomplished.Now- I do know that my shaver was on a great DEAL sale- only costing around $12 and some change. So I wonder if that is why the seller sold it without a USB cable? This item came with so many great reviews, that is why I bought it in the first place. This is another big reason for my disappointment.But the shaver IS pretty. And the delivery was very quick. I AM going to keep it. I will just figure out a way to keep cover from coming off as I use it. Like a rubber band.I will try de-pilling other items, to see if I am just too much in a hurry.

LOVE this! I used it on three blazers I have and it restored life right back into them! I’m so happy it saved me from buying all new blazers for work!

This item is OK for the cost, and I have no major issues with it (i.e., I didn't return it). However, it has a few flaws that I think should be addressed.First of all, when holding/using the device, your fingers end up on the battery compartment cover, which is weakly secured and frequently comes loose due to finger contact during use. However, it's easy to re-seat the battery cover, which is a good thing since it comes off so easily.Next, the included documentation states that it can be powered directly using the included USB cable, which is a welcome feature. However, it also states that the voltage received should be no more than 5 volts, and the current received no more than 1 ampere. I own many USB power adapters, and of those *physically* compatible, they all are rated as outputting more than 5 volts and 1 amp--except for *one* old adapter I hadn't used in several years. It's possible that a power adapter would deliver the correct voltage and current *if* the fabric shaver can signal to the power adapter what its own limits are for voltage and current, however I'm assuming that's not the case since the warning was specifically given.Finally, the manual states that the battery should be removed before running the device from a USB power source. It should be relatively simple to disconnect the battery from the power circuitry when the switch is in the 'USB power' position, but since that's not the case, the user needs to remember to do that.In summary, this device works well enough, but it's not something I'd get for someone else to use. It's not just grab-and-go; you need to be careful about how you use it, so I suggest reading the manual before doing any fuzz-trimming with this item.
