Love it!
Very nice, basic refrigerator. Cools very fast!I hesitated making such a large purchase through Amazon, but have had zero issues with delivery or the appliance. Only snag is Iam having a hard time registering it with Samsung. They defaulted my country of origin to India and can’t change it.

Fridge seems great - dented door though
Overall, the fridge seems to be working fine and is exactly what we wanted...except the door is dented. Fortunately, this is going in our garage so it'll still work for us, but if we were putting this in our kitchen, it'd be unacceptable.

lasted one year and 3 months before subtle failure
Really expected more out of this unit. I bought it mainly due to cost and speed at which it could be delivered to me about 1 year 3 months ago (had no backup garage fridge at the time). Our old LG fridge completely died after about 4.5 years so was hoping for at least that out of this unit but no luck. So the way the freezer dies is not straightforward. While I await the new one from Home Depot (another LG) this one continues to work for the fridge section. The freezer still makes ice actually and on the surface looks like it is doing the right thing. But adding an external temperature monitor shows the issue. The freezer cycles from -14 deg F and back to 6 deg F. I think it must lock up, thaw then repeat causing excessive freezer burn to every item in the freezer. It presents as a thin layer of frost when you open the freezer and on meat/veggies will see a lot of frost/icing. Tried the "simple" fix with replacing the freezer thermistor but no luck (and cleaned coils in back of unit). Anyhow, on the last failure I bought a secondary garage fridge (smart move). I didn't buy a warranty for the Samsung - am torn on this. If something dies just after a year that is supposed to last at least 15 do I really want it? I got a 5 year warranty on the new LG thru Home Depot so will see how that goes. I bought a Thomas 4127 probe based thermometer to keep an eye on the new one. Highly recommend so the minute the temps don't hold range you can call in for service. I think there may be a cascade type problem here with the design where one thing knocks out another but not sure. In closing, calling this POS a loss. Good luck!UPDATE: The thermal sensor in the freezer section DA32-10104N (used aftermarket, not OEM) that I replaced actually fixed the issue. I think when monitoring with the Thomas 4127 the probe must go into a larger mass that won't move the temp around as quick. I covered the probe with some gel packs and the freezer section is holding a steady temp near 0 instead of the -14 deg F. I think the thermal defrost sensor was just starting to go so the small layer of frost was due to this partially failing thermistor. On the defective one I was getting about 10Kohm in ice water and on the new one about 13Kohm so this translates I think to a difference of about 10 deg F being off. So the computer is told it is hotter and therefore does not defrost like it should and probably stresses other components. Looks like I can cancel the order on the new LG one at Home Depot up to 3 days before delivery. Giving it one more day before pulling the trigger on that. Cautiously optimistic I can get more life out of this and now aware that this thermistor is a wear item. I would not buy a Samsung fridge again but hope this might help someone who already owns one!

Broken door
We bought this refrigerator barley two years ago and the left door upper hinge broke. I feel that's a little unacceptable for an appliance that is only 2yrs old. We didn't purchase from Amazon, but I felt it was important to share this review. We currently have a safety hazard in our house while we wait for replacement part to ship. We've have to tape tape it shut so our children don't open it. For this reason I would avoid this product.

SAMSUNG RF28T5001SR 28 Cu. Ft. S/S Refrigerator With Ice Maker Inside Freezer Drawer
UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE MOST NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE INTENDED FOR (Certain) UNITS WITH WATER/ICE DISPENSERS ON THE DOOR. This unit only has the ice dispenser in the freezer compartment. I just bought this Samsung RF28T5001SR model since it has NO water or ice dispenser on the doors and no water dispenser inside the fridge--features I do not need or want. The ice maker is inside the freezer drawer. For those like myself who do not need ice, I can disconnect it by pressing a button after it has performed two or three ice cycles. An ice tray can do the trick for those who use little ice. After going over several brands I concluded that while all seemed to have big or small issues and complaints, some reviews reflected on defects pertaining to other model(s)--not the one being viewed. Concerned about this unit's reviews, I noticed that many of the bad ones rightfully pertained to specific models with different features. I am giving this refrigerator a tentative five stars until I have tested its performance for at least a month and then after a longer period of time. At those times, the rating will be confirmed or updated. Fair is fair.

never buy Samsung fridges, ever!!!! check the internet first. You will regret it, I did!
Samsung fridges are horrible! They have a very serious design defect. Check the internet, you will see how many complaints there are over there. There is even an ongoing class action, which I have recently learned about and am trying to become part of.The main problem with the fridge is that it cannot defrost properly. Then the fan motors, icemaker get covered up with ice and the fridge starts breaking. Sometimes it is a fan motor, sometimes the condensor, sometimes some other part. My icemaker is broken, it requires $400 plus to repair it. But repairing is not a solution. Since the problem is more fundamental and nothing to do with the icemaker itself, it will break again with a year or so, and some other parts, too. This happened with our fridge, it happened with our friends' Samsung fridge. And it happens to every single Samsung cunstiomer everyday, Just check out the internet. There is no exception.Unfortunately, Samsung is not standing by its product. Just for this reson, I have stopped buying any Samsung product, switched to another brand of phone, TV. No more Samsung in my house, and I tell my experience to everybody I meet. Many of my friends stopped buying Samsung as well after hearing my experience and their own search on the internet.
