PanPastelArtist Pastels by GOLDEN, Earth Colors Set, 5 Color, Professional Artist Pastels, Unique Pan Format (cake-like)

I am a polymer clay artist. I've heard people rave about these pastels and I've seen what people have done with them regarding polymer clay. However, they are quite expensive so I hesitated for a long time. I just finally got fed up with having to shave low quality stick pastels into a power and inferior pigments and the mess and possible color shift after baking.Long story short- I bought this set as a test, it looks like it had some nice earthy browns and greens and figured it would be a safe color palette.Oh boy am I in trouble. These apply like butter. They are like nothing I've ever used and can be applied with your finger, or the included applicators. So far- I've not noticed any color shifting after baking. The pigment is saturated and it seems to be a very high quality product. While the price is quite high, I feel this is one of those products, depending on how you use it, less it more and they should last a very long time. Keeping in mind my use is on polymer clay- very different from actually drawing or painting with them.I can't wait to add to my collection. Excellent product!I highly recommend this product. It's surprisingly high quality. Definite must have for all artists.

Only one of the pastels was cracked and it wasn’t bad at all. Nice selection of colors and I like that it also comes with blending sponges or Sofft tools. I like the stacking pans because they don’t take up much space

Finally bought it. I've been wanting to try this for several years now. I'm excited. I already know that the quality is good. I’m excited to try it myself.

Amazing, rich and deep colors, as Pan Pastels are known to be. They are lovely and worth the investment. I was, however, rather disappointed in finding 2 of the colors banged up and turned somewhat to loose powder considering the cost of Pan Pastels. Of the 6, 4 were perfect but 2 had been banged around and were damaged on the top. The seller may want to look at better protecting the product for shipping.

I love Pan Pastels. They are my favorite Pastels by far. They blend and mix easily, are malleable while using and are rich in pigment and color. I own a ton of very expensive pastels, but I'm totally hooked on these Pan Pastels. I've pretty much replaced every other pastel I used with these, they work for everything, even shading leather!

Used with the sofft product and sponges, etc, the colors are not vivid enough. I will not purchase again

I just discovered PanPastels from a friend and I LOVE THEM! I describe the art store chalk stick pastels as the Honda Accord of pastels and I would describe PanPastels as the BMW of pastels. Simply put, they are expensive but they are high quality. I use mine for my model horse projects. The go on smooth. It goes onto the plastic surface very well and is easily sealed. The color selection in browns, blackish browns, reddish browns, and yellowish browns could be better but I can make do with most of the current colors. I highly recommend this to any artist who loves working in pastels.

The best quality and most highly pigmented pastels I've ever worked with. A little goes a long way. Very good investment to make if you need high pigmented pastels.
