Based on a previous review, we thought we could fit 6 people at this table. No way! The table is 42 inches and the top ONLY extends to 54 inches with the butterfly leaf, but the legs stay fixed and do not widen. The space between the legs on the wider side is 32 inches, so we could not fit 2 18 inch wide folding chairs if we expected people to be able to put their legs under the table to eat. We estimated that 2 chairs only of 12 inches width each might fit considering clearance space for moving the chairs in and out. Not much room to be comfortable and to not destroy the table legs. We had to return this table at a $28 cost to us. The table itself is good quality solid rubber wood, nicely finished stain, solidly built, packed well, no damage. It is on other websites for more money than Amazon and is listed as a table for 4 people.

I saw so many bad reviews. They really made me worry that I'd made the wrong choice. However, today it arrived in perfect condition. It was so easy to assemble and it fits my dining room perfectly. Glad I took a chance. I will say that I would not consider this a 6 seater. With the leaf it is a comfortable 4 seater and a tight 6 seater. Without the leaf extension it is a tight 4 seater. So, I pulled the leaf out and made it a comfy 4 seater. When I need to seat 6 it will be tight but doable.

First: This is really solid hard wood, no veneers or crap wood. Second: It was very well packaged and shipped with NO damage. Third: All parts were present & easy to assemble. Really folks, if a 65 year old woman can put it together, you will have no problems. Allen wrench included, so you do not have to hunt for tools. It is nice and sturdy and looks very nice.This table is only 32 inches wide and with leaf is 54 inches deep. It is perfect for a small kitchen.

i don't know furniture but to my eyes, this looks amazing. it's solid wood, no evidence of laminates or anything like that and it's HEAVY wood... that box must've been murder to deliver to my doorstep. and it was packed really really well so my personal experience is that it was delivered in flawless condition with no dings or scrapes at all and all corners were reinforced with thick styrofoam blocks.ASSEMBLY:- you just need to attach the four legs with two threaded bolts that you can spin in 90% of the way in with just your fingers. the last bit of tensioning can be done with the included alan wrench.- easily one man/woman job. i'm always wary of furniture assembly because sometimes, it's designed to be put together with help and doing it solo is murder but this is easy. hardest part is taking the box out to the trash actually....- i took about an hour but that's including unpacking everything from it's well taped up protective foam and then ditching the box."BUTTERFLY FOLD OUT":before purchase i really wondered what the hell that was... basically, the middle section that allows you to extend the table to be wider is built into the table and attached by an axle... after you pull the table top apart to reveal the extra space, you grab and unfold it and it smoothly unfolds into the space. then you push the ends which have pegs and fit it all together and lock it with the snap locks underneath and you're done. really love the fact that the center piece is built into the table and not something that i have to remove and store somewhere else.NOTE - if you open the box correctly you will see the bottom of the table with the table top facing the bottom of the box on the floor. you will see this butterfly fold out section in the middle covered with foam and your immediate instinct will be to try to pull it free. you can try to do that for a few minutes but as i mentioned it is securely attached to an axle. this is NOT MADE TO BE REMOVED. so ignore it. ignore the foam covering it. read the instructions and attach the legs. you will be able to remove the foam and fiddle with the butterfly middle section AFTER the table is assembled and upright and the two ends pulled apart to reveal the space.INSTRUCTIONS:in the ikea style that i'm familiar with. mostly diagrams. but it's so simple that it few pages are all you need and just looking over it for a minute will tell you everything you need to know.SIZE:even without the middle extension, it can seat 4 people imo. it won't be spacious and you can't have a lot of dishes in the middle... so not ideal for something like thanksgiving dinner. but for 4 people with a plate and cup, it'll work just fine. but without the extension, it's also really nice for just one or two people too... then it's nice and spacious without taking up too much floor space. these are just a little bit wider and more rectangular than the square tables at my starbucks. for my purposes, it's more than perfect.anyway, really pleased with the table! i feel like a got a great deal and it looks great in the dining area.

Couldn't be happier! More sturdy than I was expecting. The wood is beautiful as well as the hardware finishes (vintage clasps underneath). I keep the leaf out and it's the perfect size for 4 people in a smaller kitchen. My only complaint is that there's a small chip on the corner. Not sure if it was from shipping or me being clumsy trying to put it together. And about that, it is pretty heavy so be ready to sweat a little. Tool is provided so you have everything you need out of the box :)
