I got this for my 8 months old puppy after a choking scare. She would eat food so fast that it was causing her to choke on her food, so much so that I thought I was going to have to take her to the emergency vet. Very quickly went online to purchase a slow feeder. I settled on this product, and I'm very pleased. It's helped tremendously. She is no longer choking on her food and has forced her to slow down. I would definitely recommend this product. However, since it is a hard plastic, obviously easy to chew! So I would definitely put the bowl up if you have a chewer.

Large dogs I would recommend going a size up in the bowl, but for my approx. 75 lb girl with medium size mouth (although it sounds large) it works great. The puzzle part of it definitely slows her down just enough to not eat it like a vaccume cleaner but she doesnt get close to frustrated on the time. It's stable on the carpeted floor, it doesn't move around when she's eating through the maze. Dry larger kibble pieces fit around a cup and half or more if you spread it all out evenly, and then if you had toppers they would lay on top so it depends on how much you feed doggies and what size kibble. These bowls are resistant too, even with dogs running around and eating out of them they last.

I have a pitbull breed and they are know for getting bloat/other tummy issues from eating to fast so I bought her this. It has significantly increased the time it takes her to eat which is awesome and it's a super fun and engaging way to get her to eat her food. The only reason I am giving this slow feeding bowl a 4 is because it's very hard to get clean so I would recommend buying two so you can have time to clean them properly. Other than that this is an awesome slow feeder especially for the price:)

This bowl holds enough food for a growing golden retriever. He used to inhale his food and now he eats at the same rate as his siblings. It seems like this has been better for his digestion. Very helpful tool.

Works great in slowing down the eating of my one year old lab. I am very happy with the purchase.

I bought this for my puppy and the bowls a little smaller than expected and she grabbed this side of it and already bent it so it’s not super durable. Wish it was a little bigger and the plastic was a little thicker.

My giant lab takes 7 minutes to eat now, and not 45 seconds LOL

My dog could eat 3 cups in 5 seconds. This really slowed him down. He's gotten used to it now but he still eats much slower than he used to and it's made of sturdy plastic so it lasts. Only gripe is you need to drill a hole in the top Along the rim to let water drain out of you want to put it in the dishwasher otherwise it will fill up with water.

Fue la mejor compra! mi corgi comía demasiado rápido, solo tragaba y no masticaba las croquetas. Con este plato para perro todo cambió, ahora tarda más en comer, igual que mi corgi perro que come a velocidad normal. La forma del plato lo obliga a que coma despacio y mastique más las croquetas, había escuchado y leído comentarios de productos similares que no funcionaba y que el perro volteaba la cazuela o que igual comía rápido, pero este plato esta super bien hecho y huecos perfectamente diseñados para entretenerlos más. Ideal para perros pequeños y medianos.

Con antelación había comprado un plato del mismo tamaño y diseño mas era de otra marca, al no encontrarlo disponible opte por esta opción a un precio competitivo, llego en tiempo y forma bien empaquetado, por el tiempo que llevo de uso puedo decir que los materiales son de buena calidad y aunque mi perra aunque al inicio fue muy negativa a usarlo poco a poco se esta acostumbrando a el ella es de tamaño mediano así que no se le complica alcanzar las croquetas y cumple su función, alentar la ingesta de alimentos.

It works for both of my dogs (lab and golden retriever). It stopped my lab's constant chocking due to his fast eating. Holds 2 cups of food but barely. Dishwasher safe on the hottest setting which is a blessing (It is hard to wash by hand due to all the curves). Has few rubber "feet" which keep it practically motionless on a tile floor during eating. The collapsable bowl for on-the-go is a nice bonus and works well also - dishwasher safe.
