What country is this compass made in? I read that the units made in Sweden were of higher quality.

All Silva compasses are produced by the HANZA Group in Suzhou, China. Made-in-Sweden Silva compasses have been a thing of the past since 2011, when the last Swedish production facility closed. Brunton and Suunto still make compasses in the USA and Finland, respectively.
