Great pot set!
Had this pot for several months now, used many many times, steamer mostly for broccoli and I'm very happy with the quality and durability of this pot. :)

That disappointment. This pot is bad. Takes longer to steam than expected. When I used to cook not to burn steamed food. Do not buy it again.

Works well. Inner basket is not polished stainless steel as the rest of the pot and seems to get veggie "stains" that are hard to wash off. Suits my needs.

Can Steam on Med Hgh
Unlike disgruntled previous reviewers, I use it above medium a bit. The heavy pot can take it. May get water on the stove top. For hotter stove tops like Viking keep an eye on it for water spillage especially. Have had mine for five years and it is a great alternative to the flimsy set-in steamers. Use it every night. For pasta it is great: first steam the veggies, set aside, then cook pasta in same water. Voila! (Watch it if you want your veggies perfectly steamed and not over steamed to olive green!) You will develop a feel for the time it takes different veggies to steam. Also great with a veggie burger - later veggies on bottom of insert and place the veggie burger on top and voila both steam together. Also good for tamales (without the corn husk) steamed on top of veggies.

You get what you pay for. Directions that come with this pot tell the consumer not to place this pot on a burner above medium heat. It takes forever to heat this pot full of water to boiling point on medium! When steaming something with less than an inch of water in the pot, hot water sprays onto the stovetop because the lid doesn’t fit tightly onto the steamer basket.
