Positive Review
The arrival of item: packaging of shorts was nice and clean; the shorts are of (quality material) for board shorts (not see through) and the “tight stitching” is quality. The size: (stretchiness-fit) for US pants size of 38 would better fit a size US size 40 to be comfortable.Definitely VALUE FOR MONEY

Great board shorts at a great price
I'm really happy with my purchase of these board shorts. I've been searching for the right board shorts for awhile now that check all my boxes. Finally my search is over, these are the ones. Very comfortable soft inner fabric they don't chaf your skin. Plenty of pockets for everything which is exactly what I wanted. Heavy duty Velcro front closure and lace front tie. I was a little concerned the 38 would be to big because I usually take a 36 but the 38 fit perfectly. They are a little on the baggy side but that's ok lots of room for movement. The price was very reasonable considering all the features and quality and workmanship in these board shorts.

Order a size bigger
These board shorts run small. I wear a 36 waist in everything I wear, had to size up for these. Otherwise great board shorts. Well built. Plenty of pockets

Tormentor Waterman shorts: they fit, they're light, plenty of pockets
On first opening/try-on, the Tormentor Waterman fits as ordered, feels very light, and has plenty of pockets for non-bulky items: thin wallet, smartphone, some small personal items.I ordered a 40 & got a true 40; it's not the looser board-short fit that surfers favor, though--more of a trim casual fit. If you're wearing these for very active sport, you may want to order up 1 size, & just adjust the shoelace-&-hook-&-eye-type closure. I have this type on a pair of O'Neills; it took some getting used to, but is fine. They look and feel fine for casual-to-beach-to-casual; water/sand drains in the LH outer cargo pocket & the 2 larger hip pockets might get rid of the bulk of sand & beach debris. The small R hip inside pocket, usually billed as being for keys, I might trust with a few bills or a condom on dry land, but valuables like keys/ID/larger bills seem like they'd be safer in the pocket-within-a-pocket on the RF hip; w/its stronger hook-loop & a stiffened closure band.I chose the black, which has the large fish-skeleton logo & big stitched "TORMENTOR" name also in black thread; be sure to check the pix on your color choices, as on some, the fish really stands out.Soon, we'll see how they do in the water.

A Size 28 thats actually a 28!!! WOW!
I do like the shorts overall, good fit, feel, function, etc. What I like most is that the sizes ARE what they are supposed to be. I have a hard time finding clothes that fit me right. I'm a smaller stature guy, and no going to the kids section isn't the answer (and yes, a little pride probably does keep me away totally). If you take a tape measure or anything, I'm 28" darn near on the dot and I can't tell you how many size 28 or, even 29 sized board shorts I've purchased that are (in one case in particular) 5" too large. That's not just me trying them on and them being too big, that's me taking a size 28 board short, measuring the waist with a seamstress tape, and they were just under 33" in circumference. I guess for those people in their 30s-50s that want to believe they are the same size waist as they were in high school or, college (pre-freshman 15! lol), something like that works out great! A real confidence booster. You can go from a size 40 to a 34 or 36 overnight depending on the brand. For me, finding a pair that I actually liked and that did fit true to size, I couldn't be happier. That's pretty sad something so minute can make me that happy but...? :)

Wanted to love these but fit too small
I love the idea of all the pockets and the attention to detail is readily apparent in everything about these. The trunks were packaged nicely and they put in a huge fishbone sticker in with the boardshorts which is kind of cool. I don't care for the HUGE "tormentor" lettering stitched on the flap pocket, it's cheesy and has negative connotations...but the "Mahi" green fish skin style is pretty rad. I'm a big guy, my waist size is 36 but I had to go up to size 38...and even the 38s didn't fit right (too tight at waist and too big at the leg. I had to return those too. I generally loved the fit of the 36 much better as they tapered with the leg but the waist was too small (easily by two sizes), whereas the 38s feel a bit too billowy at the thigh like cargo shorts, though waist fit somewhat better but still too small.I wish the big flap pocket on the left was on the right as I'm right handed and that's where my phone and misc goes. Was really surprised there was no back pocket whatsoever. There is a double pocket on the right that rides higher up near your hips for your snips that might work for the phone, I might grow to love that pocket, I'm not sure yet. But I love the style of the waist (no annoying elastic to pinch you constantly), the trunks sit on your hips like true boardshorts, I like the wide band. The velcro seems solid enough in the fly area.Thankfully, there's no weird "diaper" in these boardshorts so the shorts feel like your wearing air rather than a hammock stitched into a pair of trunks. Having said that, they tend to fit small...they seem made more for skinny people.I'm worried the fabric won't last long but we'll see, I'm personally not a fan of the soft polyester and prefer surf nylon like handmade Birdwell Beach Britches. The company was great about returns and shipped me a larger pair lightening fast. I think it's a good company but I wish it had a back pocket and a big pocket on the lower right for quick access to your phone.
