How long do the cartridges last

I have this connected to the outlet of my home tankless water heater. I change it every 2-3 months.

The inlet and outlet is 3/4 fpt is this the same as npt? or is there an adapter?

NPT is National Pipe Thread - that is a standard thread for which fittings can be found at any hardware store. FPT is female pipe thread - this filter has female pipe threads. MPT is male pipe thread - you will need a MPT adapter to connect to whatever size tubing or pipe you are using. Hope this helps.

Will this work with antifreeze

I believe it will work but I think it's only rated for 180 degrees F. And typically hot house water is only run for a few minutes at a time at that temp. If you are using for an engine application you could have consistent temps of 180 -220 F. It will probably work but I would plumb in a bypass in case it fails. You are probably better off with a stainless steel filter for that but you could try it.

my dishes have a fishy smell to them when my dishwasher is done washing. Will this fix the smell?
