Silicone Scar Stick Keloid and Hypertophic Scar Glide on in a Powerful Easy to use applicator - (Quantity 1)

I have a raised 15-year-old scar on my leg. I got it (annoyingly enough) after trying to remove an ingrown hair after waxing my legs as a teenager. The scar looked like a 1/4” high raised ball. It was red and very noticeable (to me and at least one particularly rude ex-boyfriend who made cracks about my scar.) I would also frequently re-injure it when shaving my legs in the shower as it was much higher than the surrounding skin. I tried all the scar treatments out there (Mederma is almost useless) and films and scar sheets would fall off of my calf when I moved. I have gone through at least 5 tubes of CicSolution over a 2+ year period because the instructions say to continue application until the scar “stops improving.” Well, my scar never stopped improving. I kept the scar stick by my bedside and would apply it morning and before bed (or when life got busy whenever I could remember.) My scar is now completely flat (something I never thought would happen) and no longer gets in the way when I shave. The redness is largely reduced and I’m hoping when I get back on the bandwagon again and start regularly treating the scar again I can get the red mark to completely go away. For those with hypertrophic scars who are not seeing results yet I urge you to keep at it as remodeling the skin is not an overnight task. I was born overseas in an area that still uses the older BCG vaccine jab that left a craggy round scar on my upper arm. CicaScar was also very helpful in smoothing out my vaccine scar so it is also almost totally flat. I had arm surgery 8 months ago. I have been using the silicone scar strips. The strips are definitely more effective at flattening and fading scars, but they must be worn with a covering like a bandage or tight sleeves to prevent them from rolling up. This was fine in the winter, but with warmer weather I began looking for another solution. The Scar Glide appears to help, but the results are not as dramatic as the strips. I have ordered more of this product to get me through the summer. I will return to the strips in the winter when I can cover them with long sleeves to keep them in place. I do think this product is better than other creams or lotions that I have tried for scars. I have a long incision from elbow to armpit on both arms and use this product 2X daily. For my purposes, one container lasts about a month.

I purchased this along with some silver biotics cream in preparation for a double mastectomy. Before the surgery I started using it on a very noticeable scar on my bicep. I used it for about 4 days before I started having trouble actually finding the scar to apply it! I would have to put on my glasses and get a bright light in front of the mirror to see it. I showed my husband and he asked where the scar went. It's still there, but it is hardly noticeable. I am SO happy because it was a particularly irksome scar for me. Scar description was of a thin white line going in several directions, spider-like. It was not a deep scar or red at all. I am currently using the scar stick on the closed wound areas from the mastectomy and I am healing incredibly fast. I don't have a read on how the scaring will end up yet because I am only 5-6 weeks out of surgery and I am also using the Silver Biotics cream along with the scar stick. My surgery site looks like the photos that I have seen of women a year after surgery. You would never guess it was so recent. I am now applying it to my 8 year old's face where she had a dog scratch and my 6 yr old who has cut open both eyebrows in rambunctious accidents! I'm excited to think that they may be scar free or at least very hard to notice as they get older.

DO NOT USE ON FACIAL LACERATIONS OR FOR ACNE SCARS! I fell down back in April and scraped my forehead. This stick turned my dime size abrasion pink over 12 weeks (applying 2x/day) and made me breakout with acne in the surrounding areas. I tried it on some old raised acne scars on my cheeks and it did not flatten keloids from acne. It also made those acne scars darker and more prominent! The silicone in this stick occludes the pores on the face and induces the worst, obstinate acne I have ever seen---and I am 39. It is way better to spend more money and procure a dark spot remover from a real skin care company. You get what you pay for.

Was easy to use until the stick broke up inside the cap, I can't get the silicone out of the cap to save my life. I tried letting it warm up so maybe it would slowly melt back down, but no such luck. Unfortunately I wasn't able to use it long enough to see improvement in my surgery scar. I give it two starts for decent shipping time.

This product has worked amazing well on my tummy tuck scar. I had my procedure on 5/12/15 and will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow, 6/16/15. As you can see from the photos I have a medium-dark skin tone, which makes me prone to keloid scars (I've had these in the past.) I've been using this product since receiving it on 6/6/15 and notice a dramatic difference in the appearance of the scar - it is no longer raised, and is beginning to fade, especially on the sides (although the right side of the scar seems to be disappearing quicker than the left side.) It may be that just the passing of time, good diet and exercise is contributing to rapid healing, but I think this scar stick is definitely making the scar disappear more quickly than if I weren't using it at all. This scar/keloid stick plus the combination of the Medipac Silicone Medical Strips seem to be working like magic. I find it easy to apply and works like a deodorant stick, no need to wait for it to dry. Would recommend this to anyone.
