Pro Products RGB-0500 Red-B-Gone Rust and Iron Stain Remover, 6 oz

Living in a city with a very old water system with rusting iron pipes, we are regularly subjected to unexpected episodes of iron flushing through our pipes with the water. Usually it is just annoying; but if there is a load of white laundry in when the rust comes gushing through the pipes, there are very expensive consequences. Bleach does not remove iron stains from the sheets and towels (or anything else, for that matter). Over the past 15-years I have discarded many sets of sheets and brand new towels due to the rust problem.Recently, I found Red-Be-Gone. What a find! This product is a miracle worker! I had a set of brand new white Egyptian cotton towels that were ruined when the washer filled with rusty water during the wash cycle. I dried the towels, thinking that I could buy new ones for our guests to use, and my husband and I could use the "off-color" towels. It didn't make me any less angry about my brand new towels being ruined! In desperation, I went on-line and search for anything that would remove rust from fabric. While reading about various possible solutions, I came across a review of this product. I could not wait to get it and try it out! Remember, the towels had been dried in an electric dryer after they were discolored by the rusty water. I was sure that I was wasting my money, but I was desperate to try anything that might help!As soon as the Red-Be-Gone arrived, I followed the directions and filled the washer with warm water, dissolved a 1/2 cup of the Red-Be-Gone in the warm water. After the solution was mixed in the washer, I put the towels into the warm solution. Over the next 5-minutes, I watched the rusty discoloration disappear before my eyes. The towels came out of the dryer as white as the driven snow. They were perfect, as though nothing had happened to them!I now keep 2 bottles on hand at all times! We never know when we are going to have rust running into the house; but now, instead of discarding discolored and damaged clothing, sheets, and towels, I have something to use to combat the problem!I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has rust problems.

Very easy to use and not very chemical smelling like some other products. I was hoping for a little more rust removal but it definitely made a big improvement. Our tub was in rough shape due to issues with our water treatment system not working properly, and this saved the day. It was better on our sink that didn’t have as much rust build up. We live in an area with a lot of iron and manganese in the well water, and even when our filtration system is working, it doesn’t catch everything. Would certainly purchase again for regular upkeep.

This worked great. I did a lot of white clothes and realized after that they must have flushed the fire hydrants so the whole load was brown. I ordered this because I couldn’t find it available in any stores local and it took a couple days so I did have to keep everything soaking in water so it didn’t dry. As soon as this came in I threw it in the wash with the clothes and all the rust stains came out. It’s a good product to have on hand.

We live in the country and we do have a municipal type water system but the water comes from DEEP wells. The water is heavy mineral laden and the iron sometimes is a bit overwhelming. Even though I usually check the water clarity before doing a load of light (especially) laundry sometimes I forget and then I have Red-B-Gone to take care of my problem. Have used it for a long time and happy to find it available on Amazon.

When our town replaced some aging water mains in our neighborhood, the rust that was stirred up by the installation quickly made its way into our washing machine. The result: rust stained white sheets and towels! I called City Hall about this and they sent me a bottle of Red-B-Gone. It worked amazingly well to remove the rust stains. Since the rust problem has persisted, I ordered more of this product and it continues to rid our white laundry of rust stains.I recently installed a water treatment system for our house (water softening and filtration), because our town's water is still pretty bad. When the plumbing contractor came to install the system, he notice the bottle of Red-B-Gone on my washing machine. He was impressed. He stated that it was an excellent product and that I should add it (per instructions on the label) to the salt reservoir for the water softening system. This would prevent rust stains on an on-going basis.

This stuff works great. Our community had an issue for a long time with manganese in the water and it caused a lot of discoloration and buildup on the insides of our toilet tanks, in the automatic detergent dispenser in my washing machine and other areas which received constant contact with water. Once the manganese problem was fixed, I used this stuff to remove all the buildup and staining. It worked great. Had to use a couple of applications in the toilet tanks, but this stuff cut through the bulk of the buildup. Very happy with the results.

Our water system had been shut off .. repairs done ... I was not thinking correctly... and washed a load of new clothes before vacation ..lots of white in the load ( plaids, stripes )Came out with very rusty stains .. one of my neighbors recommended this .. ( worked on red wine for her too .. )I followed directions & they came out fine !!!I used it to freshen up my white towels too ..This works !!

Oh my gosh, I am so thankful I found this product! My whites keep getting ruined by rust in my water. No matter what other products I used...bleach, oxyclean, etc., the rust would never come out. I used Red-B-Gone as instructed and the rust is GONE!! I wish I had found this product years ago!! And it is so easy!
