Spring Valley - Fish Oil 1400 mg, 60 Softgels

This stuff is great. I showed it to my doctor and now she's taking it. NO FISH TASTE...AT ALL.

Excellent product that I need in a hurry . Priced much higher than my usual supplier.

Capsule is extremely bitter, very rough and thick. Presentation is different from the good ones I have purchased at Walmart before. Made and sold by same merchant with same description. I asked for a return a little later after a month but replied guarantee had expired. Not fair, I spent $ 358.90 and what I got is an extremely bitter experience!!! Will rate this product at the lowest to warrant other customers about this deficient product.

Doctor recommended product and thought on-line order would be easier and more economical. The first was true, but the latter was not - cheaper in the local store than on-line.

Pros: No noticeable fishy taste when taken with food. Only one softgel per day. Health benefits are wide (and I believe vary by the individual. Mine have been outstanding).Cons: 1) While the daily dosage is only one softgel per day, they are fairly large, so if you aren't used to taking pills, it might be easier to take two or three softgels of another dosage or brand. The Spring Valley Fish Oil 1400mg's are about the thickness of a 'Sharpie' marker and nearly an inch long. 2) ONCE, I took one softgel on an empty stomach (my mistake, I should have followed the dosage instructions which say to take it with a meal) and had a mild fishy taste for an hour or so.Personal experience: I'm not a scientist, but I understand scientific method. That being said, I found several noticeable benefits.* My hypertension/high blood pressure stabilized (NOTE: Do not stop taking prescriptions without consulting physician!)* Joint benefits. Both my knees have been surgically rebuilt. The number of pain filled days have been cut in half. Ease of motion is markedly noticeable.* Allergy symptoms lessened, particularly itchy eyes.* Cholesterol testing went from borderline high to ideal levels within 3 months of starting this supplement.

Too much mercury in this brand!

I thought these were a great bargain due to the high concentrations of omega 3's and the good percentage of EPA to DHA. But the shellac (yes, as in nail polish or varnish) covering makes them nearly impossible for the body to break down and (therefore) the oils aren't absorbed into the body maximally. I got sick several hours after taking my daily pill and was surprised that it came up intact. (Thirty minutes is considered the proper time for a capsule to break down in order to guarantee you are getting what is inside of it). The pills are also quite a bit larger than the 1200 milligram ones I get from another brand. Not worth it, over all. And the "other ingredients" list has some nasties, and it contains soy. Overall, not for me.
