More than just a soft fleece, this jacket has everything; it's flattering, soft but not thick, has a tie at the bottom if you want to cinch it in, zips up under the chin comfortably, and hallelujah, it's also a great windbreaker. I bought a size up to wear over sweaters, and based on that I think it would be true to size on the whole, though it's not super roomy around the waist. It has a sort of linear shape, so if you want it a bit roomier, or for layering, size up one size. (I'm normally a M-L and I bought an XL. It's perfect over a sweater and slightly roomy over a thermal shirt. It's really beautiful too, elongates the torso and the blue is rich. I have fluffier fleeces (sherpa style) that are just that, and ideal for a cozy vibe, but they don't cut the wind like this jacket does, and because of that it's not only unique and pretty elegant it's also massively useful, and my new favorite transitional/seasonal outerwear.

It’s only a little tight across chest (because DDD here) but fits as expected everywhere else. Love the jacket. My only suggestion to Columbia would be to make the sleeves a tad longer and include thumb holes.

Lately everything I buy in a size I've worn for years has sleeves that are way too long. It would make sense if the torsos were also longer, but they are not. People are getting taller, but their arms are not growing more than the rest. I have a sewing machine and experience with this type of alteration. Otherwise, this would have been sent back. It's a good jacket.

Love the color and warmth.

This is not navy, it is more of a medium dusty blue. The color is pretty and the fit is perfect, including sleeve length. I bought an XL. I am 5'9" and 41" at the chest. The jacket sits right the hip line on me. I went with Columbia because I wanted a well made jacket and they did not disappoint! Fabric is soft and substantial. Excellent for sitting on the deck on a chilly night!
