Competent (impressive) design
UPDATE:Even better than I thought. Very strong. A total joy to work with. Took lots of stretching and never broke. Very comfortable. Looks great. Very happy.I'm sure this is a standard in modern bike wraps, but I had never worked with them before and the design really impressed me.It is tapered so that it is thinner on the sides, which is awesome, because it maximizes cushioning while minimizing edge wear. Interestingly, it was blue on the inside. And the material was quite spongy - felt great even before install.I got the antique brown and the color was much nicer than other pictures made it seem. Other pictures made it look uncannily poop-colored. In reality, the color is redder and the finish is less shiny. Not as dark as the advertising picture, which might be what you're looking for. These should get darker with time, even if faux leather.

Wow, these look really sharp on a vintage bike!!
First Impression: I’m writing this after my first short jog ( 5 miles) on the grip tape. I’m new to road biking and bike commuting, but I’ve always ridden mountain bikes for exercise and weekend trails. This is my first time wrapping my handle bars, but the online video park tools put out made it pretty simple to follow that even a first time can be pulled off decently okay. I replaced the bar tape on my 1977 Schwinn World Sport that I found on offerup, and these are an amazing improvement over Carter Era grip tape ;). These made the handlebars on my vintage road bike look amazing. I don’t have a lot to compare these to, but I found these to be really comfortable and I could see myself easily do 30-40 miles on these no problem. It has a layer of foam and a small adhesive line which I found more than sufficient to install and be fine for the first test run of them. These look great on a vintage road bike, and I’ll be updating later after I’ve put some miles on the grip tape. I can’t recommend these yet because I can’t say how durable they are, but my first impression is 5/5!

Retro and Swanky!
This tape is very nice and adds some richness to my 7th grade vinty velo!Comfort: uuuh, Wear padded gloves... grippy and nice to touch but they don’t absorb vibration from a steel frame well, but it’s vintage so what do we expect other than a vintage experience?Adhesion: Its very sticky, but its leather (no, it’s microfiber and it can pass for leather) and no real stretching. You really have to pull this one to lay flat.Durability: After finally getting it on, I don’t believe I will need to change this anytime soon unless I just want a different look. I will post an update on this.I love the cloth finishing tape and rubber bar ends. I do however wish they were the typical wooden bar ends, but that is a perk of the leather tape vs microfiber. It all looks very swanky with my other kit!

Well made and good looking tape, but not recommended for novice bar wrappers!
This bar tape looks great! It is thick and has a nice cushioned backing. It really went well with the vintage Raleigh I just finished restoring! However, I have to be honest and say that it was not the easiest to put on. If you are new to wrapping handlebars or have little patients I would suggest having your local shop put this tape on for you! I have wrapped quite a few handlebars over the years and this is by far the most difficult tape to work with. It is thick and not very flexible, so it takes a bit of time and skill to get it on correctly. Also, the end plugs are too big for vintage style handle bars. I had to use a utility knife to whittle down the rubber plugs so they would fit. I even ended up having to use some lubricant so they would push in to the ends of the bars! The end result was nice but not sure it was worth all the effort!

All grips are hard to put on. This one is smooth and durable (AND LOOKS GREAT)
These look stunning. I just put them on, easily the most comfortable grip I’ve had (have only previously purchased cheap/off-brand products on here for grip which have gotten moldy or ripped very quickly.)This product is difficult to put on by yourself but NOT any harder than any previous grip I have installed. It is simply a difficult task. Give yourself an hour and know that you will probably have to redo it once or twice. The strain on your hands can also be a problem but again it is the process not the product. If you are worried about that, then have your local bike shop install it perfectly for about $20.)This stuff looks amazing, feels great, I love the rubber ends (difficult to insert per process but a little lube and removing as much excess material will help). I will update as I use this product.

This shit is classic. I hope they keep making it for years!
Been using the same tape for 5 years. I've had to replace it a few times due to heavy use, crashes, etc. But it's always so comfy and it's super pleasing to the eye. I get compliments on it all the time. It rejects rain better than the real leather or any cloth tape, plus you don't have to kill a cow for it (I'm not vegan, but if you are, hey, this Brooks product might be for you). It's just one of those classics, like when you find a good shoe for yourself, that I just keep ordering again and again. I can't really imagine riding with anything else.

Nice look, does not perform that well.
I liked the color and the feel. I did not like that it was to stiff and did not adhere as well. Also when installing the stretch was limited and made it difficult to install. End caps were hard to put in as the thickness fo the tape plus the plugs were solid. Again, nice looking, not so good on the install.

My go to Bar Tape
This bar tape is substantial. Thick and cushy. Super durable. This has lasted a couple years on a road bike that I average about 4000 miles on a year. I have now installed this on most of my bikes and will be using this exclusively until it stops performing well or gets ridiculously expensive like other brands have.
