COVERGIRL Continuous Color Lipstick Classic Red 435.13 oz (packaging may vary)

I had high hopes given the brand of lipstick but regretted my purchase almost immediately. Package was half open, enough that someone could’ve opened the lipstick and put it back and returned it already. When I tested on back of hand there was almost no color. I envisioned this being high pigment true red as described. I bought other brand lip glosses in my purchase and they have more color than this. Threw away.

I love this brand of lipstick. It goes on smooth and moisturized lips. I was looking for a red for the holidays. This isn't it. I confirmed that the Amazon package, Covergirl package and tube all confirm the shade. The stick even looks red. It goes on bright, dark pink. It wipes off and is pink on white tissue. I did not need or want this shade. The search for a decent red that does not smear continues.

This is a beautiful lipstick but I find it a little sheer. You might be able to build it up, I haven't tried, I'm not a great makeup expert and tend to just dash it on, blot and run. It's very moisturizing, not oily, though, nor chalky like all those matte lipsticks now. It seems to go on thin, but I live in a hot climate. The colour (Classic Red) is a gorgeous pinky red shade. It would go with cool colouring.

In no way does this come close to Classic Red I'm anyones world. It's hot pink. This is my brand. I've been using it for 45 years because it just plain stays until you eat something. I have my usuals but saw this and thought that would be a great color IF it is that color. It would be hard to make a classic red in this brand because it has a sheerness to it. True classic red lipstick is always a solid, not a sheer. So I wasn't expecting much, just hoping. If you like a vibrant hot pink, and I do, then this is the one.

A beautiful color of lipstick. Went on smoothly and evenly and felt great. Didn't seem to stain when I removed it later.
