Q: Mine sounds like a steam whistle. Nothing like a scream. How do I exchange it for another one?

If your whistle doesn’t sound like a scream, the internal scream chamber may have debris inside, or it may even be defective. We check every whistle before shipping but damage can occur during shipping. Can you please send us a message via the order page? We’ll be able to identify your order that way and directly give you more detailed instructions, or even send a replacement item if needed. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Q: Since I don't want to carry it in my pocket all the time, is it possible to hook it up with a string like a necklace or with a key-chain?

Definitely too large for a pocket. There are no holes for a lanyard or anything. I keep mine in a bag with a draw string enclosure.

Q: Does it come with instructions on how to produce the right sound?

Hi, The most recent batch of Death Whistles does include a card with Instructions, however there may be some older inventory still in the Amazon warehouse that does not. Either way if you have any issues you can always send us a message directly and we can provide complete instructions and assistance.

Q: Is there a good way to clean these whistles?

Use a wet cloth soaked in cold water, and a very very small amount of liquid soap to gently wipe the exterior surface. Lightly rinse in cold water, then leave in the shade to air dry. Be careful to not get water inside the interior chamber, as this will affect the whistles ability to scream. DO NOT use hot water, DO NOT use a dishwasher, DO NOT leave out in the sun, as this might melt the beeswax used on the mouthpiece, and could also affect the natural oils used to polish the black ceramic.
