The snorkel design has a manufacturing flaw that guarantees your engine will have a vacuum leak between the air filter and the carburetor. The snorkel has a rectangular metal tube that transports propane through the gasket area. Since the snorkel is installed instead of a gasket, it must also perform the sealing function of the gasket. Unfortunately, the rubbery squishy part that would perform this function is thinner than the rectangular metal tube. The thickness of the metal tube is .161 thick,the gasket is only .130 thick. Since the metal is incompressible, there is a 100% chance that installing this snorkel will result in a vacuum leak allowing unfiltered air to flow through that .031 gap into the engine with all the lovely benefits associated with dirt ingestion.I'm attaching a few photos that show exactly what I'm talking about. You can clearly see that the gasket is not as thick as the metal tube. If they change the gasket thickness to eliminate the vacuum leak I'll be first in line to buy one. I love the idea of the snorkel, but will not install an obviously defective product.

However Ron should have contacted US Carburation for a replacement "snorkel". Mine fits perfectly and this device allows me to use natural gas instead of $4.00+ for gasoline. I estimate that for 1 hour it costs me about $2.50 while gasoline would cost over $8.00 for that same hour.Natural gas does cost more than the electricity we would otherwise use but with all of the power company safety blackouts here in California we need alternative power sources and this Motor Snorkel is an affordable solution for us.

Just ordered and installed this kit last week, installation was super easy took about 30 minutes to complete everything. After adjusting the large flow bolt opposite the hose out to the carburetor the generator has cranked and run BETTER than ever before. I would recommend this to ANY person that lives in a hurricane zone. No more having to worry about local gas stations running out or extremely long lines created by disaster demand now I can power our generator from our houses natural gas supply which has never been interrupted by storms in 40 years. Just as a side note I went back and forth for over a year debating this purchase now I can't imagine why. I showed it off to all my neighbors they are now interested too!
